What If Thanos Can’t Be Defeated In Avengers: Endgame?

Who Will Defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame

We all know that Avengers: Endgame is basically all that people are talking about. One thing, in particular, is how the mighty Thanos will be defeated. The internet is filled with different theories and opinions on who is strong enough to take him down and how they will make it happen.

People are also wondering what the hell happened to half the population that he got rid of. Fans can’t help but feel that the dead are not really dead. But what is Thanos doesn’t get defeated. What happens then? Let’s talk about it.

What If Thanos Can't Be Defeated In Avengers: Endgame?

Marvel executives who worked on Avengers: Infinity War have told its fans time and time again that the deaths were final and that they better deal with it because of Avengers: Endgame won’t have the happy ending that Marvel fans are expecting. I think it’s safe to say that most of us are hoping they aren’t actually dead and they will somehow be making their way back into this movie somehow for final revenge.

Some fans do believe that this will be the end of an era and that we are in store for a lot of surprises, including ones we might not want. We really won’t know what’s going to be the ultimate ending until we see it. But there are different theories floating around about what will happen if Thanos actually isn’t defeated like most people think he will be.

One theory suggests that when Thanos snapped he didn’t actually kill half the universe but instead created an alternate universe where all the “dead” heroes now exist. Fans believe that the “dusted” ones don’t have the memory of the snap happening and are living in a whole new world. This would create a completely new Universe that Marvel could move forward with in the future.

It also gives the interesting idea that what if the people who lived at the end of Infinity War are actually the ones who got left behind? Interesting right?
Fans go on to say that everyone who got “dusted” is implied to still be alive moving forward in the Marvel franchise. And everyone who was left alive has very uncertain futures in the movies moving forward. starting with Avengers Endgame.

It’s possible we could see more deaths of some of our favorite heroes. Some people believe that the “survivors” are a list of heroes that have already had a good run. And the ones who got snapped were all newer heroes who might be the ones continuing with the franchise.

Another theory suggests that the snap will be undone by traveling through time. If the theory is true and the snap really does get undone, then a lot of fans will be happy to still have some of their favorite heroes. This would mean that we have a group of heroes who are waiting to launch into action and save the world again.

Some fans think this theory raises a problem because it wouldn’t really make sense with the future planned movie schedules. They would basically have to kill off every major surviving character or explain why they all retired after the credits rolled on Avengers Endgame. That’s a lot.

I don’t even think a 3-hour movie is long enough to achieve all of that. The theory goes on to say that the survivors would either sacrifice themselves to save the other half or defeat Thanos only to make sure the Infinity Stones can never be used again. Either way, they believe the universes will still be split.

Another problem with this theory is that fans are wondering how Gamora would be saved? If that’s part of the story. Because all the new Guardians movies will happen in the new universe. So what would happen to Rocket who’s still living as a survivor? There are a lot of questions and the theories could go a million different ways.

However, with that theory in mind, there has also been speculation about the new Spiderman movie that’s coming out. Fans are claiming that the Spiderman: Far From Home movie takes place after the Avengers: Endgame and they don’t do a good job at hiding it in the trailer.

Fans have also come up with the theory that this movie will take place in the alternate universe. And maybe that’s why it’s really called far from home. The trailer did a great job at not giving away the universe the movie is set in. Both Iron Man and Thor are mentioned in the trailer but neither of them are seen, so fans are thinking it’s because they aren’t existing in the same universe as Spiderman who was “dusted”.

If that’s true then the people in the alternate universe would be suffering, dealing with the pain of losing so many people that mattered to them without knowing what happened. Marvel would have to find a good way of giving closure if that’s the case. And last but not least, one theory is saying that defeating Thanos won’t be what this movie is about at all.

Some fans believe there is an even bigger villain coming in Avengers: Endgame and Thanos will be knocked off within the first 20 minutes of the movie. Whether that means he’s killed or went off to live a private life somewhere after he achieved what he wanted to in Infinity War.

This theory stems from the idea that Dr. Strange only gave up the Stone in Infinity War because he saw into the future and knew it was the only way to prevent even worse destruction; fans believe he saw that another villain is coming. This theory still believes that the dusted exist in another universe and say that Dr. Strange will transfer the remaining population into the new universe by using portal powers, similar to the portal Loki used in The Avengers.

The theory goes on to say that Ant-Man will be the messenger between the two universes. But will have to ask Erik Selvig for help with creating the portal. Erik is the one who helped Loki with the portal in the Avengers.
