Valerie Bertinelli gets some love on her big day as she recalls the ‘toughest’ times of her life

On April 23, the “One Day at a Time” actress celebrated her first birthday since her divorce from Vitale was finalized in November. Since this was a significant achievement in his TV career, he commemorated the occasion with a reflective post.
Taken away Instagram, celeb shared a short music video for Connor Price and Callmestevieray’s “Grateful.” The video showed the mother-of-one spinning her suitcase in circles before ending the action with her luggage between her raised legs.
Although the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree didn’t show her face, viewers could feel her excitement as she enthusiastically shook her legs and played with her suitcase.
Bertinelli was delighted to be in Europe as the clip was geo-tagged showing his arrival at an Amsterdam airport alongside the dancing text: “Happy Birthday!”
Captioning the post, the “Hot in Cleveland” star subtly shaded her ex-husband as she revealed that part of her birthday celebration included visiting one of her favorite spots to support her son’s heavy metal career.
“I am very grateful for my birthday this year! I’ve survived the hardest six years of my life and now I’m in Amsterdam (one of my favorite places on earth, with sweet special memories),” gushed the 63-year-old.
Sharing details about Wolfgang’s upcoming performance, the proud mom said: “And on Thursday I get to see my son open for Metallica! Life is good.” Given that she’s been open about the downsides of her relationship with Vitale in the past, fans weren’t surprised by her confession.
“I’m so happy for you, Val.” You deserve to be happy. Remember, on this journey of life; there are no dead ends or detours. Find your way and a happy place. A lot of love came to Portland, Oregon,” one person cheered for the host.
“Happy birthday Valerie! You deserve happiness and love. I hope your next few weeks are amazing,” another fan tweeted, while a third gushed: “Have a great time and keep smiling!! You deserve to feel good!!”
Although the Mammoth WVH frontman didn’t express his love for his mother in the comments section of his post, the 32-year-old expressed his support Instagram page. The bassist shared an adorable photo in which he bears an uncanny resemblance to the Food Network star.
The photo shows the California native posing alongside the “Valerie’s Home Cooking” host. The duo were captured in a warm embrace with their heads together as they flashed beaming smiles to the camera.
“Happy birthday to the best mom I could ever ask for. I love you, mom,” the musician wrote in the heartwarming post. His followers and bandmates also joined the artist to wish the culinary star a good day.
In an inspirational post, the Golden Globe winner talked about being her “knight in shining armor”
In the midst of his birthday celebration, Bertinelli’s journey as a folk healer since her marriage to Vitale is not ending anytime soon as she continues to inspire others.
Last month, The Blast reported that the 63-year-old took to her Instagram Story to address overcoming the past to embrace a brighter future. The TV personality filmed herself walking through lush greenery as she took in the clear blue sky and raved about the beautiful weather before advising viewers to be patient during times of hardship. The mother said:
“No matter how bad the storm is, when that blue sky comes out and you break through the shit, it’s so beautiful, just so beautiful, and it’s almost worth the storm.”
The Hollywood veteran continued: “Yes, the storm is worth it. Because you learn a lot, you come out on the other side saying, “Hey, I’m my knight in shining armor. I survived it.’”
Reminding her followers that they are stronger than they give themselves credit for, the ‘Sydney’ actress said: ‘You 100% get through the days you never think you’ll get through, right? Think about it.”
