‘Trolls Band Together’ Trailer: Anna Kendrick Leads Trippy Trilogy

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake reprise their romantic roles in the animated trippy trilogy.

The band is back together and it’s time to rock and roll.

DreamWorks Animation’s “Trolls Band Together” brings Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) back to the stage as a long-awaited couple. The only problem? Branch’s secret past as a member of the BroZone boy gang could threaten Poppy’s future.

The psychedelic comedy features both trippy trolls and world-class music, thanks to a cast of Grammy Award winners and Tony Award winners.

According to the official synopsis, after two movies about true friendship and relentless flirting, Poppy (Kendrick) and Branch (Timberlake) are finally officially a couple (#broppy)! As they grow closer, Poppy discovers that Branch has a secret past. He was once part of his favorite boy band, BroZone, with his four brothers: Floyd (Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric André), Spruce (Daveed Diggs) and Clay (Kid Cudi). BroZone disbanded when Branch was a baby, as did the family, and Branch hasn’t seen his siblings since.

But when Branch’s brother Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talent by a nefarious pop star villain—Velvet (Amy Schumer) and Veneer (Andrew Rannells)—Branch and Poppy embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite and save the other siblings. Floyd from a fate worse than the obscurity of pop culture.

“Trolls Band Together” features “a signature psychedelic joy bomb of new and classic pop hits,” as DreamWorks teased. New stars in the franchise include Camila Cabello, Zosia Mamet and RuPaul Charles.

Returning cast members include Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Icona Pop duo Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt, Anderson .Paak, Ron Funches, Kunal Nayyar and Kenan Thompson.

Returning director Walt Dohrn helms the film along with co-director Tim Heitz, who was head of story for the sequel to “Trolls World Tour.” Produced by Gina Shay.

DreamWorks Animation’s “Trolls” films — 2016’s “Trolls” and 2020’s “Trolls World Tour” — have sung and danced to record-breaking success, earned an Oscar nomination for best original song, and fueled one of the biggest and most beloved entertainment brands . in the world.
