Before announcing his retirement, Brady reportedly struggled with mental focus and lost about 15 pounds. Bündchen, the athlete’s ex-wife, seemed to be doing much better and was spotted several times with her jujitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente. Since the divorce, she has also participated in many modeling gigs.

ESPN NFL Reporter Jeff Darlington said via Page six“There’s no question the offense never clicked … but Brady also knows his own mental focus has been gone for most of the season.” This comes after the athlete and the rest of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were previously knocked out of the NFL playoffs by the Dallas Cowboys.

Darlington continued: “Her physique was also at risk when she was faced with losing 15 kilos. Faced with losing 15 kilos, his physical stature was also at risk.”

The athlete briefly retired at the beginning of 2021; however, he was back on the field just a month later. The decision apparently did not sit well with Bündchen, with whom he has two children, resulting in their divorce. When the divorce was announced, Brady called it “painful” and said they were committed to co-parenting.

“Recently, my wife and I finalized our divorce after 13 years of marriage,” the former NFL running back wrote. “We made this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who continue to be the center of our world in every way.”
