Dua Lipa wasted no time finding love again, but it seems her ex-boyfriend isn’t happy about the change.

The sensational singer, who needs little to no introduction, has always led a rather low-key romantic life since she stepped into the spotlight in 2017. However, her love life first caught the attention of fans in June 2019, when she found love with Anwar Hadid, the younger brother of famous supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid.

Unfortunately, the perfect romance ended in 2021, and Lipa got a new man in her life after almost two years.

The “Levitating” hitmaker got tongues wagging over the weekend as she and her new love Romain Gavras walked the red carpet at the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival on Friday night.

For the red carpet debut, the lovebirds paired up in black, with the English singer looking stunning in an elegant Celine dress designed by Hedi Slimane. With an open back and one-handed straps, the pretty number has a criss-cross pattern for a sultry look.

The front of the gorgeous dress featured oval cutouts on her chest and midriff, teasing her milky skin. The highlight of the ensemble was the thigh-high slit, which gave fans a glimpse of Lipa’s toned legs. Since the dress says it all, the singer kept her accessories to a minimum.

She rocked simple diamond dangling earrings with a matching bracelet. Her brown locks were styled in a high bun with stylish bangs, and her make-up was done with natural features that matched her facial features.

Gavras, a director, looked dapper in a simple black suit and couldn’t keep his hands off his famous woman. The pair looked very much in love on the red carpet as they engaged in some mild PDA as cameras flashed in their faces.

The Cannes festival was a double milestone for the couple as they made their red carpet debut and walked Instagram official. After the event, Lipa shared a couple of steamy photos where they went to support “Omar La Fraise (King of Algiers).

The three-time Grammy winner blessed her 88.1 million followers with the big news, sharing a photo of them at their hotel and another on the red carpet. She captioned the sweet reveal: “Hier soir à Cannes avec mon cœur,” which translates to “Last night in Cannes with my sweetheart.”

The post was soon bombarded with more than 4 million likes and approving comments from her fans. One follower wrote: “I’m glad I got to see her with a real man…I’m sick of seeing this queen with little boys (no disrespect but seriously!!!).”

Another, who shared similar sentiments, stated: “She finally got a man on her side, not just a boy.”

Anwar Hadid doesn’t like Lipa, New Man

While Lipa and Gavras’ romance is met with approval from fans, the same cannot be said for her ex-boyfriend. Shortly after the London native made her debut with the Greek-French filmmaker, Hadid shared a cryptic post on her Instagram Story.

The model shared a disturbing image of herself looking heartbroken and gloomy while covering her head with a large scarf. He captioned the image: “We’re trying not to find him and kill him,” before adding a passive-aggressive smile emoji.

In the next post, the 23-year-old was seen without a scarf and smiling in a mirror selfie. The accompanying caption read: “I can’t breathe.” It didn’t stop there, as the last two updates read, “Have fun!” and “I hate the way you say my name.”

Not sure if Hadid’s post was directed at Garvas. However, it raised eyebrows on social media. Fans may recall that he and Lipa ended things in December 2021 after two years of dating. At the time, a source claimed that the former lovers were on a rough patch due to a lack of quality time.

“Dua and Anwar are taking a break from their relationship and spending time apart. They are currently working things out,” the insider claimed, hinting at a reconciliation.

The news of their split came as a shock considering Lipa and Anwar showered each other with sweet words on social media on their birthdays months ago.
