‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 Trailer: Watch Mando & Grogu Reteam

It’s been almost a year since we last saw Mando and Grog in a Boba Fett book.

Came back.

Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarinja, better known as Mando, is back under the helmet in Season 3 of Disney+’s smash hit, “The Mandalorian.” Check out the trailer below.

When we last saw Pascal’s wandering warrior in Season 2, he was just saying goodbye to Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, who Luke Skywalker had inspired to begin his Jedi training. It was an extremely moving moment, one of the defining moments of the entire Disney Star Wars era. But remember: We said that was the last time we saw them on “The Mandalorian.”

Last time we actually saw them in “The Book of Boba Fett,” which arguably undermined the emotionality of “The Mandalorian” Season 2 finale by having Mando and Grogu get together too quickly. Where was the bet?! We had to feel this separation! Maybe it was a way to not have to show us so much of the creepy CGI Luke.

In any case, Mando and Grogu’s reunion obviously won’t be the focus of Season 3. Instead, a whole new adventure awaits us. In “The Book of Boba Fett”, Mando was given a new ship, a modified chrome Naboo starfighter (as in 1999’s “The Phantom Menace”). But in that Season 2 finale, “The Mandalorian,” he also picked up a new grudge: Mando is in possession of the Darksaber, a legendary black-bladed lightsaber created by the first Mandalorian Jedi. Anyone who has earned the right to use the Darksword has the right to rule the planet Mandalore. But you can only earn the right by defeating the previous wielder in combat. (Notably, “The Mandalorian” is a live-action sequel to the “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars: Rebels” animated storylines, with this weapon at the center.)

Mando won the Darksword in a battle against Imperial baddie Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito). But while he wants to give it to the person who should rule Mandalore in the Mandalorian line of succession, Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), he knows it’s not his unless he defeats Mando in combat. So despite looking down on Moff Gideon’s forces as allies, at some point Mando and Bo-Katan must now come under fire.

How low-key will it be in Season 3? And will he cross paths with Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) again? No spoilers for you, check out the trailer below!
