‘The Bear’ Season 2 Trailer: Jeremy Allen White Brings on the Beef

The hit FX on Hulu series returns for a second season this June.

“The Bear” is back.

The hit FX on Hulu series is returning for a second season, and a teaser is also dropping in time for the 2023 Oscars. Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and the cast return to answer what’s to come at Carmy’s family restaurant.

Season 2 was first announced in July 2022, with FX entertainment president Eric Schrier saying, “’The Bear’ has exceeded our wildest creative, critical and commercial expectations. We deeply appreciate the brilliant work led by creator and co-showrunner Christopher Storer and co-showrunner Joanna Calo. Jeremy Allen White as the lead is spectacular, as are his co-stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce and Liza Colón-Zayas. We are looking forward to working on the second season.”

The official synopsis for the 10-episode second season reads: A world away from normal, Carmy must balance small business ownership, a strong-willed and resistant kitchen staff, and strained family relationships. he was dealing with the consequences of his brother’s suicide.

Golden Globe winner and star White acknowledged Vanity Fair that he was “a little nervous” about reprising his role due to the critically acclaimed first season. “If you read too many reviews, this one was ours at some point, it gave us a lot of ideas,” White said. “I hope we can shut out the world a little bit.”

“The Bear” creator Storer exclusively told IndieWire that the second season will focus on Carmy coming to emotional balance with her grief. “Carmy is closing in on her brother, but how does she deal with that going forward? How can you build something new and start from a more positive place?” Storer said.

IndieWire critic Ben Travers praised the series for its “simple joys in the pursuit of order amid chaos, as Carmy tries to implement established methods in his cast of legacy veterans and up-and-comers. The restaurant is in debt. Books are a mess. The menu makes no sense—to Carmy, anyway—but Mikey’s die-hard staff wouldn’t change a thing. So, with a little difference here and a little shift there, Carmy starts to change the culture.”

The series won big at the WGAs and is up for the 2023 Emmys.

Season 2 of “The Bear” will premiere in June 2023.
