The actor who witnessed the fire at Disneyland speaks

One Disneyland guest witnessed the fire and remembers saying to herself, “This is not right,” as she saw the dragon’s head go up in flames.

Veronica Marie visited Disneyland Park with friends and family. On the night of the fire, Marie and her family gathered for a birthday dinner to celebrate her father. Booked “Fantasmic!” dinner package for the occasion.

During the show, the first time Marie saw him live, she remembers watching Mickey say, “That’s my dream!” before watching the fire start.

“I remember looking up at Maleficent and thinking, ‘This isn’t right,'” Marie said. The Washington Post. – Like, this is a cool part of the show, but it doesn’t look right. Then I said, “Oh no, it’s definitely on fire, and that’s not the point.”

Within minutes, Mickey Mouse fell under the stage and quickly exited the show, prompting Marie to do the same. “I took a good look at the kite and said, ‘Well, if Mickey’s going, I guess I’m going too.’

Disney staff then informed others to “clear the area”. Tom Sawyer Island and surrounding areas were evacuated. Fortunately, the Anaheim Fire Department confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.

Disney has since stated that the cause of the fire is “currently under investigation” and that “Disneyland Park’s Fantasmic! at select performances and entertainment experiences worldwide, Fantasmic! Prop Fire at Disneyland Park”.

“Fantastic!” is a nighttime show at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California that takes guests inside Mickey’s dream of being the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The official Disneyland website describe the performance as follows:

“Fantasmic!” his future performances have been removed from Disneyland’s schedule until at least May 26, but that could change.
