Tennis star Naomi Osaka has revealed that she is expecting her first child

Naomi Osaka she is officially expecting her first baby with her boyfriend and rapper Cordae. The tennis star revealed her pregnancy in an Instagram post and also shared that she is taking a break. Osaka also reflected on the last few years and months of her life, saying that it has given her a greater appreciation for tennis.

Osaka advised fans to always move forward with good intentions as this will help them “find their way”. The comments section was immediately flooded with celebratory comments from fans and celebrities like Marsai Martin and Halle Bailey.

The tennis star and Cordae started dating in 2019, their first date was at an LA Clippers game.

Naomi Osaka revealed her pregnancy on Instagram

On Tuesday, Osaka posted an Instagram post revealing that she and boyfriend Cordae are expecting their first baby. The post was an Instagram carousel of an ultrasound screen with the caption: “Can’t wait to get back on track but here’s a little life update for 2023.” In the next slide

Osaka shared a message in English and Japanese about this new chapter in her life. He wrote: “The past few years have been interesting to say the least, but I find that the hardest times in life can be the most fun. These few months away from the sport have given me a new love and appreciation for the game I have dedicated my life to.”

Osaka continued, “I know life is so short and I don’t take any moment for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure. I know I have a lot to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is my kid watching one of my games and telling someone ‘she’s my mom’ haha.”

Osaka also promised her fans that she would return to tennis after welcoming her baby, saying that 2023 would be a year of lessons for her. He wrote: “Hope to see you at the start of the next one as I’ll be there at Aus 2024. Love you all so much.”

The 25-year-old also added a “side note” to fans, talking about how there is no “perfectly right path” to take in life. He said he always felt that if you move forward with good intentions, you will eventually find your way.

The comments section of the pregnancy reveal post was immediately flooded with celebrities and fans celebrating with her and congratulating them on the baby. Celebrities like Marsai Martin, Halle Bailey, Ella Mai, Donovan Mitchell and thousands of fans sent messages of support.

Osaka and Cordae were first linked in 2019 after their first date at an L.A Clippers game. However, the Grammy-nominated rapper later revealed it in a couple of trivia interviews GQ magazine that he did not know Osaka was a tennis star at the time.

He said: “If you asked me about tennis before I got into it because of Naomi, I could only give you Venus and Serena Williams, you know? Because they are just part of the culture.” Despite saying that tennis wasn’t really his sport, Cordae often showed up at his girlfriend’s matches and cheered her on from the stands. They even attended the 2021 Met Gala together.

Osaka previously called out Cordae in an Instagram post, thanking her for stopping all of her work to be there to support her in the 2020 US Open final. She posted a photo of them happily cuddling together and captioned it, “Congratulations to the mister because I’m in the mood for it today. This picture was taken right after winning the US Open final.”
