Teddi Mellencamp shares a new melanoma update; “The last three skin biopsies are benign”
“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Teddi Mellencamp took to social media to share her journey with melanoma in hopes of helping raise awareness. Her latest update comes just days after her trip took a scary turn, but she had some good news to share Instagram and on an episode of his podcast with Tamra Judge: “Two T’s in one case.”
Teddi Mellencamp shared good news after several biopsies
On her birthday trip to Cabo with “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” co-star Kyle Richards, Mellencamp received a text from her doctor with news of her last biopsy a few days earlier.
“He says he knows the last three skin biopsies are all benign. There is no need to do more with them,” he said. “And then I said yes, yes, yes, when do I have to go back, and he said see you in three months.” Mellencamp shared a screenshot of the text on her Instagram Stories page.
Teddi Mellencamp’s earlier update addressed this
Just four days earlier, Mellencamp shared that when he went in for his four-to-six-week checkup, some concerns came to light. “I went in for my 4-6 week checkup and there were three new spots that my doctors felt needed to be biopsied. I get a lot of questions about white spots. I have had both white and brown melanomas; so I’m still sharing it so I can check it out no matter what,” began the caption of the photo circle explaining the situation.
Your caption still talks about another problem found. “Recently I felt a lump on my neck. Naturally, my anxiety took over. I touched it at least 303 times. However, on the day of the meeting, I thought it was nothing. Then the ultrasound came back irregularly. I had the option of a needle biopsy or a complete excision; The doctor suggested they start the biopsy, but there is a small chance it will come back negative and then we have to remove it.”
The reality star ended her caption by reminding people that awareness is key. “I’m trying my best to stay positive and I’ll fill it in when I get the results. If it saves even one person from going through what I’m going through, it’s worth it 💕 #melanomaawareness.”
The podcast host reminded people that there’s no need to hide from the sun
After posting some photos of her trip to Cabo on her Instagram Story, Mellencamp received a lot of messages of concern from people who think she shouldn’t be exposing her skin to the sun anymore. He addressed these concerns during the podcast.
“I wear a cover, hat, sunglasses 24 hours a day, I’m under an umbrella, I have zinc on my back,” he explained to the students. The judge jumped in and added: “By the way, it can be in the sun.” It’s not like you can never be a sun because you’re not a vampire now.”
