This weekend Ted Kaczynski, better known as the ‘Unabomber’ was found dead in his prison cell.

Kaczynski was found unresponsive in his cell. He was held at Butner and committed suicide at age 81, according to the Bureau of Prisons. At the time of his death, he was reportedly battling late-stage cancer.
According to the New York Times, his death is being investigated as a suicide and no foul play is expected. Kaczynski killed three people and injured 23 more during a bombing spree between 1975 and 1995.

When the proclamation appeared in the newspaper, Kaczynski’s brother David and sister-in-law Linda Patrick immediately knew who wrote it. They recognized sentences from the note and handed it over to the authorities.
He was officially arrested in 1996, when police raided his cabin deep in the woods in Lincoln, Mont. He was charged and eventually pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole, thus avoiding the death penalty.
Kaczynski committed suicide, and this is not the first time he has attempted suicide during his extended imprisonment.

Known as the “Alcatraz of the Rockies”; spent more than 20 years there. In 2021, he entered a North Carolina medical facility while battling cancer. This is where he ended up taking his own life.
It is not known whether he took his own life, but many publications confirm it. Believe it or not, Kaczynski is in the middle of his graduate assistantship at UC Berkeley. He was in his second year when he suddenly left and started planting bombs that ended up causing a lot of damage.

The FBI never spent more money or more on the search. It took almost decades and all it took was for him to post his manifesto for his family to recognize him. How much money was spent on this search was not disclosed, but it was said to be quite a lot.
Kaczynski was known for building his bombs and mailing them to his victims. He wanted to break down modern society, technological progress, and how it would affect the environment. Bomb parts were found in his cabin.
Also found were roughly 40,000 journal pages incriminating the killer and a live bomb that FBI agents later reported was ready to be mailed.
