Singer El DeBarge has been arrested on gun and drug charges

He is a famous singer El DeBarge He won’t be dancing ’til the morning for a while after he had a run in with the cops and was arrested on gun and drug charges. Burbank PD revealed DeBarge was at a gas station when officers noticed tags on his car with an expired warranty and then saw an illegal expandable metal stick in the vehicle.

Baton initiated a further search, which turned up a substance believed to be heroin, pepper spray, and revealed DeBarge’s invalid driver’s license. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a leaded stick or baton.

DeBarge was previously arrested for vandalism in 2018 after allegedly breaking a guy’s windshield with a wrench. The “Love Always” singer reportedly got into a heated argument with a man who pulled into an RV and then called the cops after smashing the windshield. He was arrested several times on drug charges between 2001, 2006 and 2008.

DeBarge recently had a midnight run-in with Burban police that led to his arrest on gun and drug charges. According to Burbank PD communications TMZthe “Rhythm of the Night” singer was already at the gas station when the police stopped to get gas.

Cops first noticed DeBarge had expired warranty tags on his car, and when they approached the singer, they noticed an expandable metal cane sitting in the vehicle. The batons are classified as illegal weapons, prompting officers to conduct a thorough search of the car for additional illegal weapons.

As a result of the search, pepper spray and a drug-suspicious substance were found. DeBarge’s driver’s license was also checked and found to be no longer valid. The police immediately arrested the singer and took him to the station, where he stayed overnight.

He posted a $25,000 bond

DeBarge was subsequently charged with multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a lead baton. Burbank PD also revealed that the drug is suspected to be heroin, which could add to the singer’s charges.

Officers at the gas station arrested DeBarge shortly before 4 a.m. PT and booked him into jail about 90 minutes later, according to public records. The singer was released the next day at 6:15 p.m. after posting a $25,000 bond. He is due back in court in March 2023 to face the charges.

DeBarge was previously arrested for felony vandalism in 2018 when he allegedly used a wrench to break a guy’s windshield after an argument turned ugly. Local law enforcement spoke TMZ and revealed that DeBarge was in the San Fernando Valley area when he got into a heated argument.

The argument escalated and the singer chased a man out of a house and into a nearby RV. However, the singer was determined to continue the fight and followed the guy with a wrench, which he then used to break the camper’s windshield.

The guy then called the cops on DeBarge, who was arrested and taken into custody. He was subsequently charged with felony vandalism and spent a night behind bars before posting $20,000 bail.

DeBarge’s latest gas station arrest isn’t the first time he’s run into drug-related legal trouble. The “I like it” singer was first arrested for drug possession in 2001 and was arrested several times between 2006 and 2008. He later served a 13-month prison sentence and announced that he was completely clean of drugs.

However, in 2011, it was confirmed that DeBarge had returned to rehab for drug problems. The five-time Grammy nominee topped the charts with songs like “Love Always” and “Who’s Johnny.” He was also a member of his family group, DeBarge, who had hits such as “Who’s Holding Donna Now” and “Rhythm of the Night.”
