Based on Daily Mail, Gomez isn’t happy about the striking similarities between “The Idol’s” Joycelyn and herself.

The singer reportedly believes that her ex-boyfriend The Weeknd, who served as a co-producer on the show, used her personal struggles as inspiration to create the character.

“The similarities between Selena and Jocelyn’s lives are just amazing,” a source told the publication. “Because (she) actually dated The Weeknd, it’s even creepier for her.”

The source added: “Her real pain has been used for entertainment and it really upsets her.”

Gomez and The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, dated for ten months in 2017. Their divorce was said to be due to their busy schedules, which prevented their relationship from flourishing.

Their split is believed to have been amicable, and it apparently left “everyone” on Gomez’s team “shocked” by the whole drama. But according to the source, Gomez isn’t letting that get her down.

The source continued, “At the end of the day, Selena is going to do what she always does — step up and move on.”
