Sarah Paulson paid to help Pedro Pascal eat
“There were times when I would give him a per diem from my job so he would have money for food,” Paulson said of his longtime friend Pascal.
Sarah Paulson has confirmed how far back her friendship with Pedro Pascal goes.
The Emmy winner revealed that after meeting Pascal when they enrolled at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in 1993, he would support her financially.
“He talked about it publicly, but there were times when I gave him the per diem from a job I was working on so he would have money for food,” Paulson said. Noble.
Now, Paulson has called the “Last of Us” and “The Mandalorian” actor’s fandom “so psychotic,” adding, “Everybody wants a piece of him.”
“You just want him to be successful,” Paulson said. “And that, to me, I feel is the sign of a major movie star. I’m ready for him to take over from the old rom-com guys like Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson and all those guys. He can be all that. Let’s remake “Die Hard” with Pedro. Redo all the “Lethal Weapon” movies with Pedro.
Pascal, who called Paulson part of his “New York family,” admitted that early career setbacks wore on his resilience.
“I have died so many deaths,” Pascal said. “My idea of it was that if I didn’t have any serious exposure until I was twenty-nine years old, it was over, so I kept changing what it meant to commit my life to this profession and give it up. the idea looks like what I thought when I was a kid. There were a lot of good reasons to let go of that delusion.”
“The Last of Us” co-creator Craig Mazin commented, “This was not someone Hollywood sweated to make a star. They didn’t keep them away, but they didn’t drag them along either; they just sat with their arms crossed. And he fought through it and connected every single time.” He adds, “It’s an honor to have my name forever on a Wikipedia page next to his.”
Paulson most recently starred as Linda Tripp in “Impeachment: American Crime Story” as Linda Tripp and next stars as alleged cult leader Gwen Shamblin in the limited series “The Way Down.”
