English singer and songwriter Sam Smith revealed that they were banned from all the dating apps they tried to sign up for. They said most apps thought they were catfishing.

The singer revealed that despite their busy careers, they have always been able to date. Smith was recently seen packing on the PDA with designer Christian Cowan.

Why was Sam Smith ‘kicked’ off dating apps?

The “Stay With Me” singer revealed this during an interview ET Canada that they have always been able to date, but have never had success with online dating.

Smith revealed that some online dating apps have kicked them off their platforms after they were mistaken for a catfish account.

“I’ve never done Grindr,” they said. “I did Tinder once; I think I’m off Tinder. They dumped me on Hinge because they thought it wasn’t me.”

Smith admitted they didn’t check their profiles, saying, “I should have done that.” They explained that despite their busy music careers and bad experiences with dating apps, they’ve “always been able to date.”

According to Sam Smith, their dog Velma taught them how to love

Smith, 30, revealed that their dog, Velma, changed their outlook on life and love. “He taught me to love,” the singer said ET Canada.

Smith added: “I really feel like I don’t love anyone outside of my family and friends and stuff… it really taught me that. Anyway, I miss you a lot, I haven’t seen you in a long time.

The “Unholy” singer also stated that if they were ever allowed back on online dating platforms, they would dedicate their profiles to Velma’s dog.

Smith’s dog, Velma, also has two siblings; turtles named pepper and nutmeg.

The singer was spotted with top designer Christian Cowan

The hitmaker was recently spotted cozying up to designer Christian Cowan in New York. Smith was billed to appear on “SNL” and was pictured walking arm-in-arm with the New York designer. Page six.

Before that, Smith and Cowan were seen together at a tattoo shop.

An artist posted a picture of Smith and Cowan with some friends and captioned it: “I couldn’t believe it at first when I got an email saying Sam Smith wanted a tattoo from me. Back in the day I thought it was just a hoax… One of my proudest moments as a tattoo artist!”

The couple was first seen together in December at the White House, during the signing of the Respect for Marriage Act.

Sam Smith likes to keep their relationship a secret

The Grammy-winning singer has made it her goal to keep their relationship and romantic relationships under wraps. GQ Magazine. After pointing out that they like to be alone and sometimes push themselves to meet other people, Smith noted that they don’t have a problem with dating, but prefer to keep it a secret.

In the prestigious fashion magazine, Smith was asked if an attraction to drama adds to the “actual experience of falling in love.”

Smith replied: “Strangely enough, no. I think I’ve been incredibly lucky in this area. Over the past few years, as I’ve become more confident in my own skin, I’ve received a lot of wonderful romantic attention. It was incredible. I’m so open to it. And I know what I want, I know who I am, and I’m excited about it.”

They continued: “I’ve decided to always keep this a secret now. I’ve had relationships where I’ve shared things online and talked about it here and there. And I just don’t want to do that. I think being loved by someone is such a gift – to yourself. And I think my work can sometimes get in the way of that — the purity of that love.”
