August 6, 2023
Meghan Markle recently turned 42 and celebrated with a special night out with her husband, Prince Harry, and a film date with some friends.
The former actress received several happy birthday messages on social media, except for the Royal Family. Harry and Meghan’s kids, Lilibet and Archie, also didn’t receive royal notice on their birthdays this year.
The tension between Harry, Meghan, and his family started in 2020 and worsened over recent years, but according to a new report, the Duke and Duchess are moving on from the feud to focus on their raising their kids.

Meghan Markle Receives No Birthday Wishes From Royals
Meghan Markle officially turned 42 on August 4th and celebrated the day with her close friends. The Duchess of Sussex spent the day watching the new “Barbie” movie with her friends after a celebratory night out with her husband, Prince Harry.
Amid her celebration, no member of the British Royal family publicly wished Meghan a happy birthday. This contrasts her birthday last year, which featured multiple birthday wishes from Prince William, Princess Kate, King Charles, and Queen Camilla, per Page Six.
At the time, the official account for the Prince and Princess of Wales tweeted a photo of Meghan and captioned it, “Wishing a happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!” The Clarence House account also posted the same image with a celebratory message. This was the former social media account for Charles and Camilla.
Meghan Markle’s Children Were Also Snubbed This Year
Meghan isn’t the only member of her family whose birthday was snubbed by the royals this year. Her daughter, Princess Lilibet, also didn’t receive any public happy birthday wishes from the royals for her second birthday, June 4th.
A source spoke to OK! Magazine UK about the absence of public wishes for Lilibet. They claimed that the King and Queen aren’t posting social media wishes because they “don’t mark the birthdays of non-working members.” The source said, “They wish Lilibet a pleased birthday, but nothing will be put out on any channels.”
Another insider revealed to New Idea Magazine that King Charles planned a birthday present for Lilibet, likely a “custom-made cubby house.” Harry and Meghan’s older son, Prince Archie, was also publicly snubbed when he marked his fourth birthday on May 6th. It was coincidentally the same day of King Charles’ coronation.
The Couple Is Not In Contact With The Royal Family
Harry and Meghan have been on bad terms with the Royal family since they resigned as senior royals in 2020. After they moved to the US, the couple released several controversial projects about their time in the royal family.
This includes their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, their bombshell documentary with Netflix, and Harry’s shocking memoir Spare. King Charles is reportedly the last senior Royal still in contact with Harry and Meghan after the damning revelations of the Duke’s memoir.
Despite that contact, Harry and Meghan have reportedly been snubbed from the upcoming one-year memorial of Queen Elizabeth’s death. The couple has yet to receive any invites to the family event, which will be held at Balmoral Castle on September 8th.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Are Moving On From Feud
A source recently revealed to People Magazinethat Harry and Meghan are done with the family feud. They explained that the Duchess decided to move on from the issue after seeing how much it affected Harry and their happiness.
They said, “The situation with (King Charles III) and (Prince William) is still very difficult for (Harry). Meghan is always supportive of it, though. She used to be negative about it. It seems she has moved on now.”
The source explained that Meghan is now taking a “much softer approach about Harry’s family” and wants to focus on their kids and new life in Montecito. They also said the couple “are very united regarding family values and how to raise their kids. They are both great parents.”
