‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story’ trailer: See the royal romance

India Amarteifio plays the young Queen Charlotte in the “Bridgerton” prequel series.

This is the beginning of a love story that shook Regency England to its core.

“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” tells the little-known story of the titular monarch’s reign as she married King Charles III. King George (Corey Mylchreest) and caused an uproar in society. The pre-king young Charlotte is played by India Amarteifio, and Bridgerton star Golda Rosheuvel plays the adult character.

Beloved character Lady Danbury is played by Arsema Thomas, making her TV debut, alongside Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton.

The cast also includes Michelle Fairley, Sam Clemmett, Freddie Dennis, Richard Cunningham, Tunji Kasim, Rob Maloney, Cyril Nri and Hugh Sachs.

The official synopsis for the six-episode series reads: As Queen Charlotte rises to prominence and power, this Bridgerton verse prequel tells how the young queen’s marriage to King George sparks a great love story and social change. the world that the Bridgerton characters have inherited.

“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” is directed and executive produced by Tom Verica and executive produced by Betsy Beers.

Shonda Rhimes serves as showrunner, executive producer and writer, and the prequel series is based on a novel she co-wrote.

“Queen Charlotte was a moving character, and now that I’ve been able to work with Julia to adapt this story into a book is a very exciting opportunity,” Rhimes said in a press statement. “I can’t wait for fans of this universe to read the story of a character who has resonated so deeply with our audience.”
