Priyanka Chopra revealed that her broken nose left her feeling “depressed” and unable to work. In an interview on “The Howard Stern Show,” the “Citadel” actress shared that in the summer of 2001, she had a polyp in her nasal cavity and her doctor advised her to have surgery to remove it.
Unfortunately, the surgery didn’t go as planned, so she got a “completely different” appearance. “While shaving the octopus, the doctor accidentally shaved the bridge of my nose and the bridge collapsed,” he recalled. Insider. “When the time came to remove the bandages and the condition of my nose was revealed, my mother and I were horrified. My original nose is gone. My face looked completely different. I wasn’t me anymore.”

Due to her altered appearance, Chopra was fired from three film projects. The failure left him feeling hopeless and insecure about his acting career. “It was a dark phase,” he recalled.
The 40-year-old also revealed that it was difficult for her to leave home, but her late father encouraged her to have corrective surgery. “He said, ‘I’ll be in the room with you.’ He put his arms around me and helped me regain my confidence,” she said.

After facing setbacks due to her malfunctioning nose, Chopra finally made her film debut in the 2002 film ‘Thamizhan’. However, her appearance in the 2003 film ‘The Hero: A Spy’s Love Story’ helped her regain her confidence and find her footing in the industry again.
The former Miss India World credits director Anil Sharma for giving her a chance when the odds were against her. She opened up about her ordeal, sharing, “I was supposed to play this lead role and they turned me into a supporting character. The filmmaker was very nice.”
“When the tide was against me, he said, ‘This is going to be a small part, but give it your all.’ And I did,” he added.
The experience on the set was positive for the actress as it helped her regain her confidence and set her career on an upward trajectory.
