Mila Kunis For Slammed Will Smith But Is Supporting Danny Masterson
September 9, 2023
While not all the cast and crew of “That ’70s Show” has stood up in support of Danny Masterson, Ashton Kutcher & Mila Kunis have. What many on social media don’t understand is why Kunis, who so actively slammed Will Smith for Slapgate, is now standing shoulder-to-shoulder with a man who has done far worse.
Mila Kunis Slammed The Will Smith Slapgate Incident
Back when Will Smith strode onstage and slapped comedian Chris Rock for making fun of his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, Kunis was one of the many who spoke up. While many claimed that Rock had it coming for making fun of Jada’s alopecia, a medical condition that has caused her to go bald, something she’s accepted with grace, Kunis felt Will Smith had taken it too far.
More so because later Smith not only cinched the Academy Award for his role in the movie, “King Richard,” but he also received a standing ovation from many of the attendees of the infamous Oscar night.
At the time, Kunis had stated, “Not standing up was a no-brainer, but what was shocking to me was how many people did stand up. I thought ‘Wow, what a time we’re living in that rather than do what’s right, people focus on doing what looks good.’ It’s insane to me.”
Now, her letter to the Judge presiding over Danny Masterson’s sentencing, asking for leniency is proving to be yet another no-brainer for many, and most have taken to social media to show their utter disgust for both Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.
She Also Attested To Danny Masterson’s ‘Innate Goodness’
In a statement made to Judge Olmedo, before he pronounced the 30-year sentence on Masterson, Kunis, wrote that when she met him, she could “sense his innate goodness and genuine nature.” She further wrote, ” Throughout our time together, Danny has proven to be an amazing friend, confidant, and, above all, an outstanding older brother figure to me. His caring nature and ability to offer guidance have been instrumental in my growth both personally and professionally.”
She waxed eloquent about how he was always against drugs and helped her stay on the right path during their stint on “That ’70s Show,” something even Kutcher has parroted. She spoke about how he was a great father and husband, and a friend as well. Kunis praised Masterson, on how he “consistently displayed a profound sense of responsibility and care for those around him. He demonstrates grace and empathy in every situation, be it within the entertainment industry or in our personal lives.”
Nowhere does her letter address the violent rapes that Masterson was found guilty of and neither does Kunis ask for leniency from the judge. Her letter is simply an attestation of Danny Masterson’s excellent character, and she goes as far as to call him an “outstanding role model.”
Write Kunis, “His dedication to leading a drug-free life and the genuine care he extends to others make him an outstanding role model and friend…”
How this excuses him as a rapist, is something most don’t get. As one Twitter user wrote, “Mila, Focus on the pedos and rapists in Hollywood instead of a black man slapping someone…”
Here’s the letter Kunis wrote to the judge, in support of Danny Masterson.
Fans Are Disgusted With Both Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher
To say that Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are being canceled seems to be an understatement if social media is anything to go by.
As one Instagram user asked the couple, “How could you? What if those women were your daughters?”
More wrote, “You can acknowledge your love for your friend and hold him accountable for the rapes he’s convicted of—how disrespectful to the victims. Just cuz he’s “always a great guy” around you doesn’t mean he didn’t rape when you weren’t there. Your “advocacy” work ain’t s–t now.”
There are also those who believe that Kutcher and Kunis had to write those letters because Masterson holds some ugly secrets about them. Whether or not holds true, it’s clear, the golden couple of Hollywood who could do no wrong have ended up doing something almost evil, supporting a man convicted of violent rape and attesting to his “character.”
