Melanie Lynskey details Jason Ritter’s ‘Last of Us’ Cameo
“It’s like his lifelong dream,” Lynskey said of Ritter’s stunt training.
Melanie Lynskey continues her on-screen partnership with husband Jason Ritter.
The “Yellowjackets” star revealed that Ritter appeared in “The Last of Us” episode 5 as a clicker or infected person. The climax took more than a month to film, and Ritter trained as a stuntman for the action-battle scene.
“He was a stunt man. He trained with the stuntmen and did all these amazing stunts. It’s like a lifelong dream,” Lynskey said on a recent episode of “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” “She got off the ground with make-up on, rolled over and did all this (translation).”
He added that his character had to fight back: “I shot him once. Yes. Why not?” Lynskey called the on-screen interaction “so romantic”.
Ritter too he tweeted “Just the Best Day,” when they shared a photo of her putting on makeup while filming a documentary for the HBO series.
Ritter and Lynskey recently starred together in Hulu’s true crime limited series “Candy,” and Ritter will appear in “Yellowjackets” Season 2 in an as-yet-undisclosed role.
“I think he would do anything.” He really would,” Lynskey said of Ritter joining the viral Showtime series. “I mean, I want them to cast whoever they want. I will never push my husband on them. But they should know that he would do it in a heartbeat.”
Lynskey and Ritter’s relationship is seen on social media as the couple’s ultimate goal. When Ritter was announced to lead the CBS reboot of “Matlock” opposite Kathy Bates, Lynskey retweeted“I am so proud of my very talented, very handsome husband.”
Ritter he answered“Those (hearts) say hello back to You, I’m so proud of you and so grateful to be in your life.”
The “Parenthood” alum also hit back at critics who body-shamed his wife, Lynskey, and the Twitter In January 2022: “If anyone has any more unsolicited comments about *anyone’s* body, feel free to write them in permanent ink on your own forehead and the swan can dive right into the sun.”
