Margot Robbie Reveals The Kind Gesture She Made To Her Mom
From her humble beginnings in Australia to becoming a global sensation in Hollywood, Robbie’s ascent has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. Throughout her career, the 33-year-old actress has always been vocal about the vital role her mother, Sarie Kessler, played in nurturing her dreams.
In a candid conversation on CBS’ “Sunday Morning,” the actress shared her heartwarming gesture of paying off the mortgage on Kessler’s $490,000 home in Southport, Australia.
She said, “Everything I owed my mum, I had it written down. She’d take money out of the, like, house mortgage (to) lend me money.”
“So I always knew, I was like, ‘I gotta pay that back.’ And then one day, when I made enough money, I just paid that whole mortgage off completely,” Robbie added.
“I was like, ‘Mum, don’t even worry about that mortgage anymore. It doesn’t even exist anymore.’ Honestly, anyone in my position, you’d do that for your mum,” she shared.
Margot Robbie Is ‘So Grateful’ For Her Success
Robbie also expressed overwhelming gratitude and a profound sense of luck for the position she has achieved in her career.
During the interview with the news outlet, the actress reiterated that she is “so grateful” for the opportunities that have come her way and noted that she feels incredibly “lucky” to be where she is in her journey.
“I know I’m hardworking and blah, blah, blah, but I’m also the luckiest, luckiest, luckiest person in the world,” she said. “Every time that I did something, I was like, ‘Now it’s the top. It will never get better than this.’ And then somehow it’s just kept getting better and better.”
Margot Robbie’s Secret For ‘Perfect Doll-Skin’ In ‘Barbie’
In preparation for her role as Barbie, it was revealed that Robbie had a fascinating beauty secret that helped her achieve a “doll-perfect” skin tone for the iconic character.
According to British Vogue, the Australian actress reportedly incorporated a special herbal tea blend into her beauty routine to enhance her skin’s radiance and achieve that flawless doll-like glow.
Jasmina Vico, a skin-health specialist, who was in charge of keeping the stars glowing on-screen, took the initiative to work on their glow from the inside.
“Everything in the movies is about lighting,” Vico told the publication. “That’s when I thought, OK, we’re going to work on the liver, calm the nervous system, and make skin glow. But, crucially, we’re going to work on that glow from within.”
In light of that, she introduced Robbie alongside her castmates to milk-thistle tea, which is popular in Croatia, her native country.
“Milk thistle cleanses your liver,” she told Vogue. “When that happens, our liver automatically produces more glutathione, which then makes the skin more radiant.”
“The liver likes anything bitter because it helps it to flush,” she added. “This tea is like a witch’s brew!”
Her Friends Wanted Her To Kiss Ryan Gosling In ‘Barbie’
In a lighthearted chat with People magazine, Robbie revealed how her friends reacted when they found out that she didn’t share a romantic on-screen kiss with heartthrob Ryan Gosling, who starred as Ken in the “Barbie” movie.
“Uh, no! That didn’t feel like a win for me,” Robbie replied after being asked if she was happy she didn’t have to fully kiss Gosling in the film.
Robbie playfully recounted the lighthearted banter saying, “All of my girlfriends were like, ‘Well, you did a whole movie with him and you don’t kiss? What’s wrong with you? I thought you were kind of in charge on this one!’”
She went on, “I was like, ‘I know, I can’t check that one off my list.’” Gosling added, “It was so funny trying to figure out what their idea of kissing might be. I’m so glad all of that got cut out.”
