Madonna reveals the positive impact her late brother had on her life

Madonna is mourning the death of her brother Anthony Ciccone and has paid emotional tribute to him online.

The notorious Ciccone, who previously struggled with alcoholism and suffered homelessness, died last week at the age of 66. However, the cause of his death was not disclosed by family members.

Although the Queen of Pop’s relationship with Ciccone has been strained over the years due to drug abuse, Madonna continued to honor her late brother in a recent Instagram post.

The “Frozen On Fire” singer took a moment to reminisce about the sweet memories she shared with her late brother Anthony Ciccone.

Take it to him Instagram story, Madonna posted a black-and-white throwback photo of herself and Ciccone surrounded by friends, appreciating him for imparting wisdom on everything from different religions and favorite novelists to musical recommendations.

In the picture, the “Hung Up” chick and her oldest brother were seen smiling at the crowded table, next to their many friends.

Madonna wrapped her arms around a man in a black leather jacket as she draped a leopard scarf over her shoulders. The singer’s brother, on the other hand, looked handsome, dressed in black, with his face turned away from the camera.

Attaching a message of gratitude to the post, she wrote: “Thank you for blowing my mind as a young girl and introducing me to Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Buddhism, Taoism, Charles Bukowski, Richard Brautigan, Jack Kerouac, Expansive Thinking Outside the Box. .” Madonna graciously added, “You planted many important seeds……… . . ❤️”

The singer’s family announced the death of her estranged brother

Before the “Like A Virgin” hunk shared his touching tribute on social media, his brother-in-law Joe Henry took to his Instagram account on Sunday to confirm Ciccone’s unfortunate death.

Per The BlastHenry, who is husband to Madonna’s sister Melanie, shared a black and white picture of Ciccone and captioned it with the heartbreaking announcement.

In the long caption, he wrote: “My brother-in-law Anthony Gerard Ciccone passed from this earth plane last night. I’ve known him since I was 15, in the spring of our lives in Michigan, so many years have passed.”

A grieving friend of the deceased continued: “As Brother Dave Henry (photographer of Ciccone’s photograph) notes, Anthony was a complex character; and god knows: we got tangled up in no time, as true brothers know. But I loved him and understood him more than I was sometimes willing to let on.”

Looking to the future, he further noted that although “trouble will pass sooner or later”, the family will always remain “with outstretched hands” towards each other.

Henry ended with a touching message to Ciccone: “Farewell, Brother Anthony. I want to believe that the god your blessed mother believed in (and mine) is there, waiting to receive you. At least today, no one is dissuading me from this vision.”

Madonna and Anthony are two of eight children born to father Silvio Anthony “Tony” Ciccone and a mother also named Madonna, all of whom grew up in Michigan. At the time of his death, Anthony had reportedly moved back to their family home in Michigan.

The “La Isla Bonita” singer and her brother did not share a close bond, and her struggles with alcoholism and drug abuse are believed to have played a role. He eventually went to rehab in 2017 and as a result reconnected with the Ciccone family, including Madonna.

The Queen of Pop was reportedly responsible for paying for Anthony to stay in a rehab center in Texas for two months.

While Madonna is currently dealing with the loss of her brother the best way she can, the entertainer has recently been faced with dealing with unfounded rumors floating around the internet about her permanent facial changes due to plastic surgery.

However, the Michigan native turned things around after mocking fans who criticized her face in a post she shared on Twitter and showing off.

In the photo, Madonna looked stylish as she rocked a baggy black shirt, paired with ripped jeans and a ‘Spiritually Hungry’ hat. Her face was free of makeup, and her hair under the hat was in pigtails. The ‘Into The Groove’ singer posed with her arms crossed as she leaned back in a chair.

Captioning the post, the Queen of Pop jokingly wrote: “Look how cute I am now that the swelling from the surgery has gone down. Lol.” Admiring the singer’s witty comeback, her post attracted the attention of fans, thousands of people commented on the picture. Some of her followers complimented her look and encouraged her.

One fan commented: “I love your sense of humor”! While another wrote: “Mom. Thank you for always living life on your own terms.” A third added: “You look beautiful, but then you always were.”
