Lizzo Set To Countersue Ex Dancers Amid Fallout From Legal Troubles

Lizzo has a plan for the former dancers who sued her for alleged sexual assault, racial harassment, and poor working conditions earlier this month.

New reports claim her lawyer expressed the singer’s plans to countersue for the plaintiffs’ alleged hypocritical behavior. The update comes after Lizzo issued a statement addressing the matter, and the accusers criticized it for not acknowledging their feelings.

Pictorial Evidence Has Thrown A Wrench In The Lawsuit Against Lizzo

On Wednesday, July 23, Lizzo’s attorney, Marty Singer, revealed images to PEOPLE depicting plaintiffs Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez reportedly enjoying themselves backstage with cast members of the Crazy Horse topless cabaret show on March 5, 2023, in Paris.

This comes after their lawsuit alleging that the hitmaker had coerced them into attending the performance during her tour. Referring to another club where they asserted being coerced to attend and engage with nude performers, Singer wrote in a statement:

“These images showing the three plaintiffs gleefully reveling backstage after the topless show were taken after their February 2023 visit to Bananenbar in Amsterdam that they complain about in their lawsuit.”

The legal defender indicated that all three dancers resumed their duties on the “About Damn Time” singer’s tour after the Paris event. In the subsequent month, Davis purportedly submitted an audition tape for her television show “Watch Out for the Big Grrrls,” expressing her desire to “follow in her footsteps.”

Continuing the statement, Singer claimed that after Davis’ audition video publicly surfaced, she attempted to “explain away her glowing comments about Lizzo by claiming the ‘bulk’ of her accusations were based on things that happened later.”

“These irrefutable photos and videos, along with additional substantial evidence, prove the glaring contradictions between what the plaintiffs claim in their bogus lawsuit and what is actually proven by the facts. The lawsuit is a sham. Lizzo intends to sue for malicious prosecution after she prevails and these specious claims are dismissed,” he added further.

In the lawsuit brought forth by the plaintiffs, their legal representatives asserted that Lizzo had invited the dancers to attend the show without disclosing that it was a nude cabaret bar.

Neama Rahmani, the attorney representing Davis, Williams, and Rodriguez, emphasized that despite the released photos, they continue to uphold every allegation in the lawsuit and are committed to pursuing the case in court.

Amid the back and forth between the legal representatives, The Blast reported that the lawsuit had cost the “I Love You B*tch” singer a chance to co-headline Jay-Z’s “Made In America Festival.”

The event was supposed to be held on the first weekend of September at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In a statement issued earlier this month, the show’s organizers disclosed:

“Due to severe circumstances outside of production control, the 2023 Made in America festival will no longer be taking place. This decision has been difficult and has not been made lightly nor without immense deliberation. Made in America has a legacy of delivering exceptional experiences for music fans and concert goers, and it is our commitment to always deliver a top-tier festival experience.”

While refraining from providing a specific explanation for the complete cancellation of the 2023 edition of the annual event, the organizers conveyed their enthusiasm for the festival’s comeback in 2024. They also assured attendees that they would receive refunds for their purchased tickets.

A Rep For The MTV Video Music Award Recipient Cleared The Air On Her Love Life

As her legal troubles continue to grow, it is essential to note that Lizzo has one person standing with her — her man, Myke Wright, despite the recent move of unfollowing each other on social media.

The Blast noted that as it turned out, the pair’s action and the Grammy Award winner’s subsequent removal of their pictures resulted in break-up speculations. It also did not help that one source said:

“Lizzo has taken the past few weeks very hard, and her relationship has suffered. They had a big falling out earlier in the week, and she is really upset.”

However, a spokesperson for the celebrity divulged that, contrary to the circulating rumors, the couple was still together. In fact, last month, the 35-year-old referred to Wright as the “love of my life” and even shared a sweet snap of them with the caption, “Selfie with my favorite artist.”

The image, capturing the “Juice” artist from the chest upwards, showcases her wearing a deep-cut pink bra and a headband on her forehead, emanating a sense of contentment.
