List of 2023 Oscar Winners | IndieWire
Jimmy Kimmel hosts the 95th Academy Awards.
We’re finally getting to it. With the 2023 Oscar winners announced tonight, the Oscars will bring to a close one of the longest awards seasons in recent memory.
Why is it the longest? Well, because it could be argued that it was the full 12 months of the campaign cycle, because that’s when the world’s best-considered front-runner “Everything Everywhere All at Once” debuted in March 2022 at SXSW. When IndieWire’s David Ehrlich announced Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert’s film, it was March 11, a full 16 days before the infamous 2022 Oscars. There were hot dog fingers even before the Slap.
“Everything Everywhere” received 11 Oscar nominations this January and will win five, including Michelle Yeoh and best supporting actor Ke Huy Quan, according to IndieWire’s Anne Thompson. We will see.
When the 95th Academy Awards open tonight at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the biggest challenger to “Everything Everywhere” will be Netflix’s rather unexpected German-language film “All Quiet on the Western Front,” which is nominated in nine categories . It is an Oscar winner and recently triumphed at the BAFTA Awards. Will Oscar voters finally give Netflix the best picture award?
See the full list of 2023 Oscar winners below, updated live throughout the evening.
