Leonardo DiCaprio and Gigi Hadid tried to make a connection

An insider revealed the Daily Mail that Leonardo DiCaprio and Gigi Hadid tried to hook up “some time ago.” However, both celebrities decided to remain friends after establishing that they had no romantic feelings for each other.

The insider said: “They’ve been trying to date for a while to see if there’s something there, but there just isn’t. They’re friends and have been for so long, but they’re not in an open, no-strings-attached relationship.”

They further explained that the rumors do not mean that DiCaprio is “dealing with relationships” but that they “sound cheap”. According to the insider, when the actor is in a relationship, it is always serious. They added: “(DiCaprio) enjoys his friendship with Gigi and that’s it.”

In early June, rumors surfaced that the actor and the supermodel had a “no strings attached” relationship. Based on Us Weeklythe two celebrities had a “fluid romance,” but insiders said it was fake, as the “Wolf of Wall Street” actor doesn’t indulge in casual romantic situations.

The rumors started after they were spotted on several outings

DiCaprio and Hadid’s dating rumors began after they were photographed on dates in London, including with her parents. Speaking of which, an insider, per Daily Mailhe said that their trips together meant nothing more than their good friendship.

They said: “It’s ridiculous that a man and a woman can’t be friends without everyone insisting there’s more to it.” DiCaprio is rumored to only date women under the age of 25, and Hadid would be the first to cross that line.

The duo were photographed together in September when they both attended a VIP event in Manhattan. The party was hosted by DiCaprio’s friends Darren Dzienciol and Richie Akiva at Casa Cipriani, and they were said to be touching.

Earlier this year, a source revealed the Daily Mail that DiCaprio was “single” and interested in serious relationships. They shared that “The Revenant” star was interested in shedding the publicity that he only dates models under the age of 25.

They said: “Leo is very single at the moment and is not keen on the hype that suggests he is looking for these very young women. Looking for something more mature in the relationship department. It’s just ridiculous because you can’t go anywhere without hooking up with the youngest beautiful woman.”

After the rumors about him and Hadid started, the pair weren’t spotted together until they were spotted at the pre- and after-parties at the Oscars. Later, witnesses to both events claimed that DiCaprio and Hadid looked like a match, but there are no photos to support this.

Whatever romantic relationship there was between DiCaprio and Hadid is definitely over, as the actor has been seen with several models lately. Earlier this week, the ‘Catch Me If You Can’ actor was photographed with Neelam Gill, the 28-year-old model.

The pair dined in Paris with DiCaprio’s best friend Tobey Maguire and their two children, Ruby and Otis. Amid speculation of a romance between DiCaprio and Gill, a source revealed Daily Mail that the pair are just friends despite being spotted on another outing at Chiltern Firehouse with the actor’s mum.

After his relationship with model Camila Morrone ended, DiCaprio has been linked to several other women besides Hadid. Last December, the actor was rumored to be dating model Victoria Lamas, 23, after they were spotted leaving a Hollywood club together. The duo reportedly left the scene in the same car.

DiCaprio was later criticized in February after fans speculated he was dating 19-year-old model Eden Polani. This rumor turned out to be false.
