Renowned image architect Law Roach talks candidly about the parts the media didn’t see after announcing his retirement.
As you probably know, news of the stylist’s retirement has made headlines in recent weeks. While the media speculated that she had beef with Zendaya and that her retirement was untrue, Roach struggled with multiple emotions about leaving her career behind.
Just over three weeks after making the brave decision, the seasoned fashion icon has revealed how her retirement has affected her.
Law Roach says he experienced grief after his retirement

The “legendary” judge caused mixed feelings after announcing his decision to retire. Speaking to People magazine, the 44-year-old revealed his feelings while enjoying the “Release Your Rage” retreat in Los Angeles celebrating Netflix’s “Beef.”
The stylist explained how she’s accepting her new reality: “I didn’t retire and think the next day was going to be perfect. So I go through certain stages of grief.”
Roach continued: “I lost something that was so important to me and such a big part of me for so many years that it felt like a part of me had died. So I went through guilt, sadness and a few days of dark depression.”
As someone who has spent a noticeable amount of time pampering her clients, Roach noted that she’s tried to adapt to a lifestyle where her clients aren’t in the picture. The image architect also admitted that he doesn’t know what makes him happy, but he figures out how to do it.
In her confession, she said: “First of all, I don’t know what makes me happy and I don’t know how to take care of myself yet. So I’m learning and I’m excited to learn. I’m excited to be the priority.” Roach added that this was the first time she prioritized self-care, which was new to her. So he is currently focused on learning and development.
He ended his speech with the reassurance that everything would be fine. He stated: “And hopefully in the end I will be a better person, mentally healthier and happier. Every day since the announcement has been different for me.”
Roach’s confession comes just days after he shut down rumors that they’re dating rapper Megan Thee Stallion at the CMT Awards. As covered by The Blastthe stylist cleared up such speculation with receipts showing the rapper’s outfit was designed before he announced his retirement.

Roach uploaded an email from the brand in January. Along with the email, she claimed to have received the “Body” rapper’s dress to wear to the Grammys. However, the rapper did not attend the Grammys; that’s why she wore the dress to the CMT awards.
Speculation began after sultry pictures of Megan rocking the Roach-curated outfit hit the internet. The 28-year-old looked stunning in the body-hugging dress with a cut-out on the hips.
Netizens began spreading opinions that the stylist’s retirement was untrue, with some saying it was a stunt. One Twitter user said: “Law Roach announcing his retirement seems like the best decision ever. I see so many PR and branding opportunities now.”
The ‘legendary’ judge says his retirement was ‘self care’
Shortly after the style genius announced her decision to retire from celebrity styling, she explained her reasons for doing so in early March. According to Roach, his decision was a form of “self-care.” He pointed out that he had put his clients before himself for so long and needed to relieve that pressure.
As for why she prioritizes the well-being of her clients, the stylist shared a childhood existential trauma that prompted her to do so. He said, “If you’ve never experienced being a kid and going to bed hungry, you’ll never understand why I work the way I do.”

He added: “I still wake up with that gut wrenching feeling that this could be over and I could go back to where I came from. And where I came from, there was nothing, you know?
Having had such experience, the stylist worked harder than anyone else. And even though the experience was years ago, Roach says the sad feeling never goes away.
Although he would no longer be styling Hollywood’s favorite, the seasoned designer would continue to work in the fashion industry and do other things. She revealed her plans to walk the runways and share her fashion knowledge with others.
