Last chance to ride Splash Mountain at Disney World
in 2020 Disney Parks announced that the iconic attraction, Splash Mountainfound in both Walt Disney World and Disneylandre-themes the “The Princess and the Frog” ride.
The attraction is based on the movie, “Song of the South”, which is extremely controversial as many consider it racist. The film is a mix of live-action animation and features an older African-American plantation worker, Uncle Remus, who tells stories to a young white boy. Groups including the NAACP protested the film’s initial release.
With the Walt Disney Company pushing for more inclusion, they decided to get rid of Splash Mountain and turn it into a “Princess and the Frog” attraction.
Last weekend to ride Splash Mountain at Disney World

Disney Parks recently announced that guests will be able to experience Splash Mountain on the final day at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. January 23, 2022 that is, there are only a few days left until the iconic attraction closes forever.
Inside Splash Mountain, guests can see many of the Song of the South characters, including Br’er Rabbit, Br’er Fox, and Br’er Bear.
The official Description of Disney World it says:
Gently drift across a colorful South Bay with happy Br’er Rabbit as he searches for his ‘laughing spot’. Be forewarned, though: Br’er Bear and Br’er Fox give this headstrong rabbit a heavy chase.
Slide past more than 100 adorable Audio-Animatronics geese, frogs, raccoons, possums, bees, alligators and other homey creatures as they sing classic Disney ditties including “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” and ” Ev’rybody’s Got’ is a laughing place.”

Splash Mountain to become “Princess and the Frog” Ride

In 2020, a petition circulated online asking Disney to convert Splash Mountain into a “Princess and the Frog” themed ride, which seems to have had an effect as a few months later, Disney Parks announced that will permanently close the classic theme park attraction Splash Mountain — which opened at theme parks in California and Florida in the late ’80s and early ’90s — and open a new ride based on the 2009 Disney Princess animated film .
“The Princess and the Frog” was released in 2009 and stars Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Jennifer Cody (Charlotte “Lottie” La Bouff), Jim Cummings (Ray), John Goodman (“Big Daddy” La Bouff ), Keith David (Dr. Facilier), Bruno Campos (Prince Naveen), Michael Leon Wooley (Louis), Jenifer Lewis (Mama Odie), Terrence Howard (James), Oprah Winfrey (Eudora).

There is currently no closing date for Splash Mountain at Disneyland, nor is there an opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at either Disney World or Disneyland.
