Kyle Richards is “fully present and clear about everything”
In a heartfelt message shared on her Instagram stories, Richards thanked her fans and followers for their supportive comments on her journey to sobriety. The reality TV personality shared a sweet selfie of herself sitting outside in the sun wearing a black sports bra and dark sunglasses.
“I was sitting outside reading all your DMs about my last post,” Richards noted. “It seems like a lot of people have similar stories and want to walk that path but don’t know how. We are so programmed to think we need to drink when we go out to socialize. Many of us are just on autopilot. And many of us are used to not being fully present these days.”
She shared words of encouragement with her fans and followers who might want to walk the same path but haven’t taken the first step yet.
“There are plenty of things you can order that taste better than alcohol, are better for your body, and don’t leave you feeling gross and guilty,” Richards wrote. “Plus, being fully present and aware of everything you say and do feels good.”
Kyle Richards says quitting alcohol is beneficial for everyone
The “RHOBH” star also described her decision to quit drinking as a “win-win” situation.
Richards highlighted the many benefits she has experienced since embracing sobriety, including improved mental clarity, increased energy levels and improved overall well-being. She seemed grateful to be able to prioritize her health and focus on her personal development.
“As someone who has always struggled with anxiety, I was amazed to find myself surprisingly calm in situations that would normally trigger anxiety. It’s safe to say it’s a win-win for me,” Richards concluded.
“Today is one year alcohol-free for me”
Richards, 54, recently shared her milestone achievement with her millions of followers on Instagram. She posted a glowing selfie of herself in a black singlet and brown cowboy hat, sporting a pouting smile as she reflected on the challenges she’s faced along the way.
“Today marks a year without alcohol for me,” Richards began. “I concluded from several things that I didn’t want to drink. First of all, I didn’t feel like it was a place I wanted to be.”
The reality star noted that she had to make the decision to stop drinking because “I knew it wasn’t serving me physically, mentally or spiritually anymore,” before sharing that the process was “a lot easier than I thought it would be.”
“I never put a time frame on when I will drink again, or say IF I ever drink. I know I’ve never felt better physically or mentally,” Richards continued. “I’ve learned that I still overshare, but at least I don’t have the ‘anxiety’ when I think about it. I learned that sometimes I still do stupid things and I beat myself up about it.
The stunt star noted that his decision was “opposed by some”, but he did not throw in the towel, noting that his peers were “mostly supportive”.
Kyle Richards’ marriage to Mauricio Umansky is on the rocks
Based on People magazineRichards and her husband, Mauricio Umansky, have reportedly ‘divorced’ after 27 years of marriage. A source close to the couple revealed that they have been living separately for some time, but still live together under the same roof.
“Kyle and Mauricio have been living apart for a while, but they still live under the same roof. They’re staying friendly as they figure out what’s next for them and their families,” the source shared.
However, in a joint statement issued by its own Instagram Richards and Umansky stressed that the “divorce claims are untrue”, although they had indeed had a “rough year”.
“Regarding the news that came out about us today… The claims about the divorce are untrue,” the statement said. “However, yes, we had a difficult year. The biggest challenge of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other very much.”
“There was no violation of the law by anyone. Although we are in the public eye, we ask that we work through our affairs in private. While it can be fun to speculate, please don’t make up fake stories so we can insert an additional salacious narrative,” the statement concludes, with the pair thanking fans for their “love and support.”
