Kim Kardashian is allegedly behind the ‘flour bomb’ incident
Hasan, who has collaborated with Kardashian several times since 2005, reportedly revealed in a new documentary that the reality star’s iconic 2012 “flour bomb” incident was actually a staged “media moment.”
The said episode took place at the True Reflection perfume launch in West Hollywood, California, as seen in the UK Channel 4 documentary ‘The Kardashians: Billion Dollar Dynasty’. The New York Post.
At the time, it was assumed that the animal protection organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) was behind the incident, because it was claimed that one of the organization’s members had thrown away the flour.
Kardashian herself denied knowing beforehand that this would happen.
Hasan now claims that they had several “discussions” with the reality star and her team and agreed to be “flour bombed” at the event, so the press covered it.
“Everyone will be talking about your perfume”
In the documentary, Hasan recounted how the conversation with Kardashian and her team went.
“Okay, this is going to happen. You’ll be fine, you’ll be safe, but we’re creating a media moment. If we create media gold, guess what will happen? Everyone will talk about your perfume, everyone will buy it,” he recalled the discussion with the reality star at the time.
“Is the team in it? Of course, they are also involved,” added Hasan. When the incident happened, alleged PETA activist Christina Cho was said to have yelled “fur rage” at Kardashian while throwing the white-hitting food at her.
Cho was held by hotel security until authorities arrived, while Kardashian went to a private room to change before ending the outing. Even after the incident, the reality star did not choose to press charges.
PETA denied the incident
At the time, PETA denied responsibility for the flour incident, denying that they had any relationship with Cho, who was widely credited with spearheading anti-fur protests under its banner.
The animal rights organization and Kardashian have previously clashed over fur issues, leading to the reality star making several fashion changes.
While it’s still unclear if Kardashian was behind the “flour incident,” PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange recently said they’re happy the Skims founder stopped wearing fur.
– Maybe the bigger reveal is that Kim’s assistant is a secret PETA member? she said New York Post. “We may never know, but what we do know is that Kim is now fur-free, and that’s what really matters to us and the animals she prevents from being caged, tortured and electrocuted for their fur.”
