Griffin made further allegations against Brand, claiming he once sexually harassed one of her friends during an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
According to the former “My Life on the D-List” star, the “Despicable Me” voice actor pushed his groin against her friend when she went to shake his hand.
Griffin criticized the double standards in the comedy world, saying, “You don’t hear that Julianne Moore is sexually assaulting somebody. Rather, women in the comedy space are often labeled ‘difficult,’ ‘bitchy’ or ‘bossy.’”

She emphasized the constant uphill battle for women in comedy, adding, “In the female comedy world, it is constantly an uphill battle.”
Griffin expressed comfort in seeing men like Brand face consequences for their actions, adding, “It gives me a little comfort when guys like Russell Brand finally have some price to pay.”
Amy Schumer supported Griffin’s message in the comments, highlighting women’s challenges in the industry. “I love you! I hope to earn as much as the rapists and transphobes in the game someday. Also, it’s just like a part of my story that I have taken jokes from other comics, and I have never in my life not even once, done that. We have to fight for ourselves.”
Four Women Accuse Russell Brand Of Sexual Assault

Griffin’s video was released a week after four women came forward with accusations against Brand. These allegations published by The Sunday Times spanned a range of incidents, including rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse, during Brand’s career peak from 2006 to 2013.
One accuser detailed a rape incident in his Los Angeles home in 2012, involving Brand forcing her “against a wall.”
The woman said she sought assistance at a rape center the following day. Another victim recounted an “emotionally abusive and controlling” relationship with Brand when she was just 16 while he was in his 30s.
Russell Brand Vehemently Denies Accusations Of Sexual Assault

Getting ahead of the story, Brand had vehemently denied all the “alarming” allegations a day before the exposé was published.
He addressed the accusations in a video, stating, “I have received two alarming letters, or a letter and an email, one from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper, listing a litany of egregious and aggressive attacks. Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some grave allegations that I refute.”
The “Bedtime Stories” actor went on: “When I was in the movies, and as I’ve written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous. During that time of promiscuity, the relationships that I had were always consensual.”

“(There are) witnesses whose evidence directly contradicts the narratives that these two mainstream media outlets are trying to construct, apparently, in what seems to me to be a coordinated attack,” he concluded.
Following the bombshell investigation into Brand by Chanel 4 titled, “Russell Brand: In Plain Sight: Dispatches,” the comedian released a video on Instagram, thanking his supporters for “questioning” the information they were presented with and begging for their support on the video sharing app Rumble after his YouTube channel got demonetized.
