Judy Greer to Oppose Ellie Kemper in New ABC Sitcom

“Halloween” star Judy Greer has landed her next starring role in ABC’s new television series. Species reports that he will star in the network’s new comedy series “Drop-Off” opposite previously announced star Ellie Kemper (“The Office”).

Greer will appear in the series along with Kemper as a series regular.

Greer has been cast as Amanda, described as a “hyper-confident, super-organized mom” who seems to have everything in her life together and runs the inner circle at Julia’s (Kemper) children’s school. Amanda will be fine with it. compliments that are actually insults and usually arranges a babysitter swap with the moms during the school holidays and swaps with Julia watching Amanda’s kids while she prepares a famous dinner party. However, this ends in disaster for Julia.

Kemper plays Julia, a struggling working mother who turns to her community for help. The series is an American adaptation of the BAFTA-winning British sitcom “Motherland”. The series is currently broadcast by Lionsgate Television on Hulu.

The show’s official diary reads: “With the help of new friends Calvin and Liz, Julia finds that she manages to balance work and parenting from time to time. This is a comedy for anyone who’s dropped their child off at school, breathed a sigh of relief… then realized it’s Sunday.”

Greer recently starred in the Hulu television series “Reboot,” which was canceled after one season this year. She is slated to star in HBO’s upcoming limited series White House Plumbers alongside Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux, directed by David Mandel. She recently appeared in the first two installments of the “Halloween” revival trilogy as Karen, daughter of Jamie Lee Curtis Laurie Strode, starring in 2018’s “Halloween” and 2021’s “Halloween Kills.” His other credits include ‘Adaptation’, ‘The Village’, ‘Ant-Man’, ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’ and ‘Jurassic World’.

Greer’s other TV credits include voicing Cheryl in 135 episodes of FX’s hit animated series “Archer.” She also appeared in Arrested Development as Kitty Sanchez. He also starred in the adult FX sitcom Married, which ran for two seasons and 23 episodes on FX from 2014 to 2015.

After appearing on The Office, Kemper starred in the hit Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. The series ran from 2015-2020 with 52 episodes. The role earned her two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2016 and 2017. He also recently starred in the Disney+ sequel “Home Sweet Home Alone” alongside Rob Delaney, Archie Yates and Kenan Thompson.

Kemper is producing the project with Sharon Horgan, Clelia Mountford, Stacy Greenberg and Kira Carstensen for Merman Television. Paul Feig and Dan Magnante are the show’s creators through Feigco Entertainment. Holly Walsh and Helen Serafinowicz are also producing the series. Michael Showalter directs and serves as executive producer. Julieanne Smolinski (“Home Economics”) will serve as writer and executive producer.

Lionsgate TV and ABC Signature are producing the sitcom. It is expected to stream on Hulu at a later date.
