Josh D’Amaro on the late Disney imagination, Rolly Crump’s legacy
Yesterday, The Blast reported that Disney Imagineer, Rolly CrumpKnown for the Haunted Mansion, “small world” and the Enchanted Tiki Room, he has sadly passed away. He was 93 years old.
Now, President, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Josh D’Amaro pays homage, reflecting on Crump’s legacy.

Josh D’Amaro took to Instagram to share a photo of the late Disney Imagineer standing among the most iconic dolls in the popular “small world” attraction that Crump helped design.
“If you’ve ever visited Disney attractions like the Haunted Mansion, the Enchanted Tiki Room, and It’s a Small World, or seen Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, or Sleeping Beauty, you’ve enjoyed the movie incredible work. Rolly Crump,” D’Amaro wrote on Instagram.
The Disney Parks president added, “Rolly sadly passed away this week at the age of 93, and we honor him as an animator and visionary. With Rolly’s work, he embodied Disney’s creativity and innovation in the service of storytelling. His legacy at Disney will live on in the happiness his work continues to bring to millions of guests each year.”
D’Amaro concluded with a quote from Walt Disney himself: “As Walt Disney said; “It takes people to make a dream come true”. Thank you Rolly for making the world a happier place.”
Rolly Crump’s legacy

According to the Facebook post Close friend and co-author of “It’s Kind of a Cute Story” Jeff Heimbuch, Crump died on March 12 at his home in California.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Roland “Rolly” Fargo Crump passed away peacefully yesterday morning in Carlsbad, California,” the post read. – He was 93 years old.
Heimbuch went on to discuss Crump’s legacy with The Walt Disney Company, writing, “A truly unique individual, Rolly’s whimsical works have appeared all over the world. Whether it was his many contributions to Walt Disney films and theme parks, various pop culture luminaries (such as Ernie Ball and Jacques Cousteau), or his own personal creations, Rolly’s incredible style was uniquely his own and instantly recognizable to many.”
Crump is best known for his work at the Disney Parks, helping to design some of the most iconic attractions, including the Enchanted Tiki Room, the Haunted Mansion, and “it’s a small world.” In addition to working within the Disney community, he has also created and designed projects for Knotts Berry Farm, Busch Gardens, and other theme parks.
“He leaves behind a legacy that can never be matched and the magic he created for countless people around the world will never be forgotten,” the Facebook post continued. “Rolly and his family would like to thank the fans for supporting his work over the years. Her entire life was filled with one ‘kind of cute story’ after another, and she is fondly remembered.”
