Jeremy Piven has finally spoken out about the sexual abuse controversy that forced her to take a five-year hiatus. In 2017 and 2018, several women accused Piven of sexual assault, harassment, and physical assault.
The actor maintains his innocence of all allegations of sexual abuse, saying they never happened. The scandal affected his film career, as Piven was fired by former CBS president Les Moonves.
Piven took a five-year hiatus from the industry and returned with a new film, “Sweetwater.” Several former accusers have shared their frustrations with returning to Hollywood.

Jeremy Piven deals with the sexual abuse scandal

In a recent interview with KTLA’s Frank Buckley, Piven finally spoke about the 2017/2018 sexual misconduct allegations that have plagued his career. The actor shared that the scandal forced him to “own his life” as he realized he had “nothing to hide.”
Piven said per Daily Mail, “When you’re on stage doing stand-up, you’re right. And since I’m right, I have nothing to hide. And so you cannot seek the truth…and spend your life doing it.” The “Old School” actor shared that he started exploring stand-up comedy, spending more time with his mother and meditating to create more “balance” in his life.
He also said, “The great Martin Luther King said that no lie can last forever. I know your producers or someone is probably looking for a soundboard, but that’s not what it’s about. It’s about taking ownership of your life, and if you know what the truth is, you can stand on a stage anywhere when you have nothing to hide.”
Several women have accused Jeremy Piven of sexual misconduct

In 2017 and 2018, several allegations of sexual abuse against Piven were made public, allegedly turning him into an “emotional wreck”. The first accusation was made by actress Ariane Bellamar on Twitter, who said that Piven sexually harassed and abused her.
Bellamar claimed the incidents happened twice, first in his trailer on the set of Entourage and then again at the famous Playboy Mansion. Shortly after her allegations went viral, actress Cassidy Freeman posted an Instagram post claiming Piven engaged in “predatory behavior” toward her when she was “too young.”
Bellamar and Freeman’s accusations opened the floodgates as more and more women came forward with allegations of sexual assault and harassment against the actor. Tiffany Bacon Scourby, an advertising executive, and Isis Taylor, a porn actress, were also involved with Piven on several occasions.
He denied the allegations at the time

At the time, Piven vehemently denied ever abusing or harassing women, calling the allegations “absolutely false and completely fabricated.” When Bellamar’s allegations first surfaced on Twitter, the “Entourage” actor released a statement denying that he had sexually assaulted her.
Based on Daily Mail, the statement read: “I unequivocally deny the shocking allegations made about me. It didn’t happen that way. It takes a lot of courage for victims to come forward with their stories, and I hope that the allegations against me that didn’t happen don’t detract from the stories that need to be heard.”
Jeremy Piven continues his film career

The sexual abuse allegations hit Piven deeply as they came in the heat of the #MeToo era, when women called out their abusers, especially in Hollywood. Les Moonves, the former president of the CBS network, fired him from the drama “Wisdom Of The Crowd.”
Shortly after Piven, Moonves was fired from the network amid sexual misconduct allegations. After his firing, Piven took a five-year hiatus from the film industry and is now returning to “Sweetwater.” The film is a biography of Nat Clifton, also known as Sweetwater, the first African-American player in the NBA.
Even though Hollywood welcomed Piven with open arms, his accusers have not forgotten their experiences and the trauma. He spoke to three women who accused him recently Rolling stone magazine. They shared their disappointment that Piven had managed to avoid being held accountable for the break and said they had decided to move on.
