James Corden is the “difficult and most obnoxious entertainer”
From beloved TV presenter to villain! James Corden’s reputation continues to plummet.
The renowned entertainer, best known as the host of ‘The Late Late Show’, has recently been the target of media outrage. The backlash began after a famous restaurateur accused him of atrocious treatment of his employees in 2022.
The controversy surrounding the British icon skyrocketed following the accusations of Craig Duncan, a member of the entertainment industry. What happened between the director and the celebrated comedian? Read on to find out!
James Corden seems to have a recurring pattern of bad behavior
As shared on his Youtube channel, Duncan’s encounter with the allegedly rough Corden took place in 2013. According to the “Fludded” host, the duo met on the set of the competition series “A League of Your Own.”

The media personality was tasked with hosting a Masterchef-style challenge outside the studio, featuring the ‘Into The Woods’ star alongside other comedians. Recalling the episode, the Scotsman said: “The most difficult and obnoxious host I ever worked with was James Corden.”
Duncan revealed that when the entertainment production company offered him the gig, his colleagues warned him about the ‘One Chance’ actor’s ‘difficult’ behaviour. Despite previously working with a “prima donna opera singer,” the media personality was unprepared for Corden’s character.
After being invited to watch a rehearsal of the show, the director was shocked when Corden’s mood turned sour during a card reading. Recalling the moment, the director said, “(It was) kind of a joke and he just looked at her like, ‘This isn’t funny, this isn’t funny. That sucks. We have to rewrite this.”
Believing that the British entertainer’s outburst was caused by a bad day, the TV producer accepted the offer to film the episode. Unfortunately, the situation worsened as the father of three created a tense atmosphere on set.
“We’ve been working on it,” Duncan explained. “When the old bugles go, ‘What the hell is going on here?’ It’s obvious what you’re doing. It’s so obvious how you shoot; you’re stupid.'”
Seeking to ease the tension, the director agreed with Corden and convinced his team to follow his instructions. Despite taking the peaceful route, the director noted that the “Gavin and Stacey” star continued to make filming difficult.
The Londoner explained that he only needed five minutes to film and returned to the studio 45 minutes late. Duncan’s claims come months after Keith McNally’s restaurant story.

As The Blast shared, the famous restaurateur accused the “Peter Rabbit” star of being the “most abusive” customer to Balthazar’s servers in the grocery chain’s 25-year history. On his Instagram The British entrepreneur explained that Corden had shown his terrible behavior twice.
The first incident happened in June, when the 44-year-old was “nasty” to the restaurant’s manager after finding hair in his food. In the second incident, the comedian visited the restaurant for brunch with his wife Julia Carey. However, things got heated after Corden allegedly yelled at the server for making a mistake when ordering his wife’s egg yolk omelette.
Following McNally’s accusations fans were very disappointed by the actions of the Hollywood sensation. But the “Carpool Karaoke” host tried to save his name, claiming he “didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I have done nothing wrong on any level. So why would I ever give this up? I was there. I get it,” the late-night talk show host said in an interview with the New York Times , adding, “It all feels so Zen. Because I think it’s so stupid.”
Responding to the talk show host’s statement, the restaurateur accused him of lying in a violent rant. He wrote: “Me I don’t want to kick a person when they’re down. Especially if he’s worth $100 million, but when James Corden said in yesterday’s NY Times that he’s “done nothing wrong on any level,” was he kidding?
He added: “Or did he deny that he abused my servers? Whatever Corden might have meant, his conclusion was clear: He didn’t do it.” McNally then offered Corden to “eat for free at Balthazar for the next ten years” if he admitted his mistakes.
The OBE recipient has been criticized for plagiarizing Ricky Gervais
Last November, the 44-year-old has been embroiled in yet another controversy after being dragged on social media for plagiarism. On an episode of “The Late Late Show,” the Londoner joked about taking guitar lessons.

However, the comic material was born from the same joke that Ricky Gervais performed in 2018. Corden, using the comedian’s unique mannerisms, delivered the gag similarly. In a since-deleted tweet, “The Office” star commented on the similarities between the sketches.
That message prompted one fan to inquire whether the talk show host had sought permission to use his material. However, Gervais revealed that this never happened and noted that Corden was probably not responsible for the plagiarism.
“No. I think one of the writers made it up for him. I doubt he would knowingly copy such a famous stand-up routine word for word like that,” the host wrote on Twitter.
After the story reached the British icon, the father-of-three apologized for the mistake while giving a special shout-out to Gervais. Corden’s tweet read: “Accidentally told a brilliant Ricky Gervais joke on the show last night, obviously not knowing it was from him. It’s brilliant because it’s a Ricky Gervais joke.”
