Honey Boo Boo plans to live with BF Dralin Carswell in college

Honey Boo Boo is all grown up! Alana Thompson, best known by her adorable childhood nickname, is taking her relationship with Dralin Carswell to the next level.

June Thompson’s fourth and youngest daughter stole the hearts of millions at a young age in beauty pageants. This phase of her life was featured on TLC’s hit series ‘Toddlers & Tiaras’.

The reality TV star may no longer be frolicking on stage in her adorable pink dresses; however, he continues to thrive as a teenager. The 17-year-old recently celebrated two milestones: her admission to college and her first romantic relationship.

Leaving home for a new science adventure can be nerve-wracking, but the ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ star said she has nothing to worry about as she’ll have a familiar face by her side. The teenager revealed his university plans.

While promoting their WEtv series “Mama June: From Not to Hot,” the young entertainer opened up about her future and how her boyfriend of nearly three years holds a special place in it.

The McIntyre native, who graduated high school in May, revealed that she will be studying nursing at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. However, the social media influencer didn’t live like other students as he left his university dorm to be with his beau.

“I’m going to move away from the university for security reasons and because Dralin is coming with me,” said the TV presenter. According to Honey Boo Boo, it wasn’t difficult to convince her 21-year-old love to leave her hometown for a new place.

“I think he’s more excited about moving there than I am. He’s ready to move out of our small town and experience something new,” the TLC alum admitted. Carswell’s eagerness to live with Thompson may not just be a chance to leave Georgia, as this is the couple’s first time together.

Speaking about the big relationship step, the former participant of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” gushed ET Online: “Honestly, I think it’s going to be good for us and I think it’s going to be fun. Even though I’m moving halfway across the country, it will be good for me.”

Moving in together is the birds’ first step in their plans to live happily ever after. Despite the four-year age difference, the pair are committed to building a long-term relationship and have started thinking about children.

However, raising children is not a bridge the TV personality wants to cross in the foreseeable future. Explaining that she wants to prioritize her career, Alana lamented: ‘I don’t want kids and he does. I want to stay in Colorado long enough to work as a nurse after school.”

Given the seriousness of their relationship, when asked if she believes her boyfriend is the one for her, the 17-year-old clarified her doubts. “I can’t tell you because I don’t know what life will bring, but I hope so,” he said.

While the McIntyre native was uncertain about his future with Carswell, the media personality was confident in his college goals. Thompson expressed his excitement for his new experience at Regis University, but said he will stay away from any distractions, especially Greek life.

“I don’t want to be in a sorority because—and don’t get me wrong for saying this—every sorority girl is stuck!” he claimed. “This is not me. I’m not a Chanel bag kind of girl. I will complete my studies and graduate in 2029.”

During the interview, Mama June Shannon and her daughter Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird weighed in on the 17-year-old’s romance with Carswell. The host’s sister said she is not against the pair’s relationship as long as the 21-year-old puts Thompson’s happiness first.

“All that matters to me is that Dralin treats Alana well,” Efird explained. “He’s respectful, my kids love him, and his family is great. That’s all that matters to me.”

As for the matriarch of the family, Mama June, she warned her youngest daughter about the negative effects of living with a lover. While supportive of their relationship, the TLC alum noted that Honey Boo Boo will always come first.

“Pumpkin and I both told her that it’s either going to break her and Dralin and it’s going to break her or she’s going to break herself,” the 43-year-old said. “But as we always told him, he can always come home if he doesn’t like it.”
