American actress and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow discussed the effects of young children on marriage.
Paltrow explored relationships in general on it Goop podcast with Katy Perry and joked that the dynamic of a relationship changes when it involves children.
The “Seven” actress also revealed that being a stepmother was one of her biggest regrets, offering advice on the matter to anyone who would listen.

The “Spider-Man: Homecoming” actress and Katy Perry recently spoke on the “Goop” podcast about all things dating, relationships and marriage.
Paltrow, 50, shared her thoughts on young kids hurting relationships, saying: “A relationship is hard. Like, I looked back now, like the data of parents with young children, and it just… destroys the relationship.”
For his part, Perry agreed with the actress, but gave his opinion on the next steps. She admitted that the dynamic does change after having children, but as long as couples are “willing to work, they can make their way forward.
“I think if both people in the relationship are willing to do the work, it’s a lot easier,” the “Roar” singer said.
“But if someone thinks they don’t have a job, it’s going to be very challenging.”
Gwyneth Paltrow says motherhood is rewarding
Although being a mother comes with challenges and sacrifices, Paltrow and Perry agreed that it has been an incredibly rewarding part of their lives.
Paltrow has two teenagers — daughter Apple, 18, and son Moses, 16 — with ex-husband Chris Martin. Her current husband, Brad Falchuk, also co-parents two teenagers from her previous marriage: Isabella (18) and Brody (16).
“I never felt lonely again after I got her (Apple) … and I felt very lonely in my life,” Paltrow said.
Perry, who has daughter Daisy, 2, with co-star Orlando Bloom, shared the same sentiments, pointing out that she felt “really lost” and that everything she did “wasn’t enough” until a child came into the picture.

The actress took time to reflect on her experience as a stepmother and admitted that she entered the role naive to the demands.

Additionally, Falchuk called Chris Martin, Paltrow’s ex-husband, Apple and Moses’ “big dad.” The film producer said of the Coldplay singer, 45, “He loves them and spends time with them and all that,” adding that “he doesn’t have to be their father.”
He clarified: “When I’m the dad in the house, all I have to do is be ‘dad’. Paltrow and Falchuk married in September 2018 in front of friends and family.
