Gwyneth Paltrow Confesses She Never Watched The Oprah-Markle Interview
In a recent interview, Gwyneth Paltrow disclosed that she never watched the infamous Oprah Winfrey interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The chat with Oprah, in which the royal couple made serious allegations against the Royal Family, was widely talked about and difficult to miss when it aired. But yet, Paltrow, who is one of Meghan’s close pals in Hollywood, claims she never saw it.
She candidly confessed to Bustle Magazine, “Do you know I’m the only person in America who did not see that interview?” Her shocking revelation came after the interviewer compared the Goop founder to the Duchess of Sussex.
Paltrow admitted her cultural detachment, adding, “I didn’t watch it at the time, and now I can’t… I don’t know where to find it. I’m so out of it culturally. It’s really embarrassing.”
The Duchess and Paltrow have been seen hanging out on multiple occasions and where once reported to have eaten at a Sushi place in Montecito alongside their spouses and another Hollywood power couple, Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden.
The “Iron Man” star also revealed her limited social media presence. She shared that she is “really only on Instagram” and follows food and mental health professionals but often mutes content.
Paltrow expressed her desire to avoid social media but acknowledged its role in staying informed and for work-related commitments.
“I wish I could not be on it, but at the same time, you do want to have a sense of what’s going on. Then, of course, I need it for work, and they always make me do these stupid things on it all the time,” the Academy Award winner said.

In her conversation with Bustle, Paltrow discussed her latest beauty endeavor, “good.clean.goop,” set to launch on October 22 exclusively at Target and Amazon.
The beauty line features skincare products and wellness supplements, all priced under $40, including a $19.99 glycolic acid toner and a $24.99 vitamin C eye serum.
When asked about her motivation behind the inclusive brand, Paltrow shared that she wanted to make Goop Beauty, a high-end skincare brand with products like a $58 eye cream and $125 serums, accessible to a broader audience.
She said, “Good.clean.goop is for a person who understands about the dangers that are in conventional products, somebody who is wellness-focused. I think from a values perspective and a lifestyle perspective, they’re probably similar (to someone who might buy Goop Beauty).”
She Says Her Life Is ‘Extra Messy’ At The Moment
Elsewhere in her interview with the publication, Paltrow acknowledged that her life is “extra messy” at the moment.
She explained, “I’m in a phase where I feel like things are just extra, extra messy because I have so much to do. My son and stepson are both seniors in high school, and sometimes I feel like the college process is a full-time job in and of itself. So I’m trying to keep the domestic stuff on track, and we have a lot going on at the company.”
The “Sliding Door” star admitted to making mistakes but emphasized the need to be more forgiving of herself during these tumultuous times, adding, “I should say I’m trying to learn to be more tolerant with myself when I make messes because I really don’t like it. It’s just one of those seasons. It’s like this fulcrum of life.”
Gwyneth Paltrow Speaks About Life In Her 50s
Paltrow also reflected on life in her 50s. She candidly admitted, “I thought in my 50s I could downshift for some reason. I don’t really know why I thought that would happen.”
Paltrow revealed that she found turning 50 to be a positive experience, saying, “I was concerned I was going to feel a lot of grief or fear because I remember when I turned 40, the anticipation… I really flipped out. I didn’t have that at all at 50.”
The famous actress added: “I love my friends. I love my husband. I love my kids. Yeah, my job is hard. But this is good. To your point, it’s like I don’t give a f— what anyone says about me, or thinks about me, this is who I am. I felt like 50 was a deepening into myself. And, apparently, that just keeps getting better.”
