Ginny and Georgia season 2 was included in Netflix’s 10 best English series

The soap series was named “13 Reasons Why” from the Netflix list.

Right behind him they make fun of them on “Saturday Night Live,” “Ginny & Georgia” topped Netflix. Season 2 of the mother-daughter series was ranked 10th in the Top 10 list of English TV seasons on Netflix.

Season 2 of the series, which premiered all eight episodes on January 5, reached 504.77 million hours in its fifth week of availability, according to figures provided by Netflix. The streamer also estimates that 56 million households watched the season, though that’s based on dividing the total hours watched by the roughly 9-hour runtime. The show’s rise means Season 2 of “13 Reasons Why,” another teen series, has been knocked off the all-time list.

Created by Sarah Lampert, the soap series premiered in February 2021 and stars Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howey as the titular couple, 15-year-old Ginny and her young mother Georgia, who move to the fictional town of Wellsbury. The series follows both characters’ struggles to fit into their new surroundings, complicated by the many crimes of Georgia’s checkered past.

“Ginny & Georgia” Season 2 debuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s weekly English-language TV charts for 180 hours. It remained at No. 1 on the chart for another two weeks, logging an additional 305 million hours. On Netflix’s Jan. 30-Feb. 5 chart, the season is No. 2 behind fantasy show “Lockwood & Co,” with another 38.09 million viewers. Season 1 of “Ginny & Georgia” also made the list, with 22.5 hours watched.

The top 10 English series are led by billion-hour series “Stranger Things 4” and “Wednesday,” with “Dahmer,” “Bridgerton,” “Stranger Things 3,” “Lucifer” Season 5, “The Witcher” Season 1, and “Inventing Anna” fills in the rest of the entries. The most-watched series on Netflix of all time is, of course, still “Squid Game,” which leads the non-English language list with 1.65 billion hours. Netflix’s all-time list, which the streamer began publicly updating in June 2021, is based on views for the first 28 days of the season.
