The 43-year-old, who played Ashley Banks on the original NBC sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” from 1990 to 1996, will guest star in all six seasons on the upcoming season of “Bel-Air,” which premieres. February 23, as revealed in the released promotional clip.

The trailer for the upcoming season gives us a glimpse of Ali’s new role as her character’s teacher from the 90s. It also takes a look at Will being recruited by adult basketball scouts and Carlton getting into a vicious fistfight.
TVLine shared that Ali will be playing the role of an English teacher named Mrs. Hughes for Ashley as Akira Akbar. According to the description, “an English literature teacher at Bel-Air High School, who sees something special in Ashley, often gives her books from his personal collection.”

The series is a dramatic adaptation of the original comedy series that follows Will’s (Jabari Banks) complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the foreclosed mansions of Bel-Air. However, in season two, the character finds herself at a crossroads when a new figure enters her life, challenging what she learned in Bel-Air and vying for control of her influence.
In the new episodes, her two worlds will collide, forcing her to learn about the power of second chances as she navigates the conflicts, biases, and emotions of a world far different from the one she’s ever known. Additionally, Will and Carlton’s brotherhood “begins to develop as they grow closer but continue to challenge each other over their differences” in these episodes.
According to the newspaper synopsis the latest episode of the series Will will also be seen “navigating his home life with the Banks family and trying to rebuild the trust that was broken at the end of last season.”
