The 2023 ATX TV Festival has announced the finalists for its Season 12 pitch competition.
Canva’s annual pitch competition provides a unique opportunity for an undiscovered budding TV writer to pitch their original idea and script to TV’s biggest showrunners, producers and executives. This year’s top 10 finalists include Frank Paiva (“Catwalk Kings”), Reid Pope (“Old Queens”), Kelly Brown and Kerry Schwartz (“A Series of Unlucky Men”), WAW Parker (“The Baron”), Derrick Edmond ( “The Detritus”), Jeff Locker (“The Forgotten Place”), Kelsey Llewellyn (“The New Hospital”), Joseph Borg (“The Render”), Rebecca Christian (“Drug Free”) and Brian LaPerche (“Wasted on” ) Youth”).

The above finalists submitted their 90-second video pitches and writing samples for an original scripted series by January 29, 2023. Industry judges have selected the best talent to perform live at the festival in June.
Selected finalists will be able to attend a general meeting with one of the competition judges and participate in virtual gatherings with showrunners, executives and producers throughout the year, as well as additional opportunities through The Black List and the Sundance Episodic Program. After the festival in June, the sole winner will receive mentoring with a Pitch Competition judge or ATX TV panelist and the opportunity to pitch their series to one of the festival’s studio/network partners.
