Fans are having fun with the hefty price tag of Tory Lanez’s new lawyer

Social media users are having a field day trolling Tory Lanez for the latest addition to her legal team.

Although the rapper was found guilty of three felony charges in connection with the shooting death of Meghan Thee Stallion last December 2020, he is not backing down without a fight. To that end, he recently hired another well-known lawyer to help him appeal the verdict as soon as possible. However, the practical move became a talking point when critics learned of the lawyer’s monthly fee.

Tory Lanez was slammed for paying Jose Baez an outrageous monthly salary

Lanez — real name Daystar Peterson — didn’t seem to be taking any chances with his possible prison sentence. As it stands now, the “In For It” rapper faces a maximum sentence of 22 years in prison and could be deported back to Canada after serving his term.

To avoid this, the 30-year-old hired a lawyer who he believed could “save” him, Jose Baez. In case you missed it, Baez was the mastermind behind the 2011 acquittal of Ohio native Casey Anthony.

The woman, now 36, avoided jail and the death penalty after being accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie. That aside, Baez has been lauded as one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers” by the National Trial Lawyers Association four years in a row—a boast that doesn’t come cheap.

Daily Loud actually he tweeted that the criminal defense attorney allegedly received a monthly salary of $200,000 from Lanez. Within a few hours of the news going live, trolls responded with their best jokes and pranks.

A Twitter user uploaded a forceps Comedian Druski is on the phone with a “client” to whom he says: “We’ve had good news and bad news. Good news, we got your pay, mate. Bad news, they gave you life. Sayonara.” Caption: “Tory’s lawyer after pretending to work on her case for 12 months 💀.”

“Imagine spending so much money just to get more time. I love Tory Lanez’s music but he needs to improve his attitude. Still disappointed about the whole Megan saga,” another tweeted user shouted.

A third person He told Lanez: “Shiiit. You better come than this nigga for 200k a month 🤦🏽‍♂️:” alongside a photo of “Power” character Joe Proctor gesturing to his client Ghost.

A fourth user famous“Dude going broke and still going to jail 💀” and a fifth he added“Then he probably found better ways to defend Tory than last time. “She couldn’t shoot him because she’s 5’3″ LMAO.” – I’ll tell you, it’s better if the shelter (sic) moves for that much at the same time and ah*ll! a sixth observer he exclaimed.

A seventh person he joked“For that much money, the lawyer would be better off getting this shitty vacation, US citizenship, and a lifetime supply of Oreos.” An eighth critic wanted to know why Lanez was “wasting what’s left.” Meanwhile, another Twitter user was puzzled by the rapper’s hairline, requested “Man whose hair is on the side of Tory’s head.”

The “Broke In A Minute” hitmaker’s father is vehemently against the court’s verdict

The explosion reported that a Los Angeles jury found Lanez guilty of grossly negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic handgun and having a loaded and unregistered weapon in a vehicle. Jurors agreed with the prosecution’s theory that the 30-year-old injured Megan’s leg after firing five shots at her in a fit of rage.

The pair reportedly got into a drunken argument after a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home in July 2020. However, the situation escalated when both rappers started recording their music careers.

The unexpected verdict immediately sent his family into a fit of rage, with Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson, angrily lashing out at the jurors. The former pastor called the court system “evil” and described two prosecutors as “evil”, which led to them being forcibly removed from the courtroom.

A few hours earlier, Lanez held her son smiling and told the cameras she was optimistic about the day. Although the Houston hottie looked lively in a purple suit and pants as she exited the courtroom, she avoided a legal battle with the press and the public.

Lanez will be sentenced at a later date.
