Episode 5 of ‘The Last Of Us’ can be streamed earlier because of the Super Bowl

HBO fansThe last of us” are lucky, because the fifth episode of the great post-apocalyptic drama will drop earlier than originally expected due to the Big Game. In anticipation of Super Bowl LVII, HBO has moved up the streaming and Video On Demand premiere dates for the next episode of its new hit series.

“The Last Of Us” Episode 5 Super Bowl LVII

The next episode of the hit show airs Friday, February 10 at 9:00 PM on HBO Max and HBO On Demand. The show will premiere on HBO on Sunday, February 12 at 9:00 p.m., but now fans using the HBO Max streaming service can watch it a little earlier.

HBO announced the news in an official news release for the show Twitter account and release a new preview. This seems like an interesting strategy to get the show out to viewers before next weekend’s Super Bowl. The game will feature the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles.

It looks like things won’t get any easier for Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) as they venture through the quarantine zone. The show received rave reviews and became a huge hit on the premium cable network.

As previously reported by The Blast, HBO quickly renewed “The Last of Us” late last month before the third episode aired on HBO. The enthusiasm and reception for the show was incredible, so it’s easy to understand why HBO quickly closed it down for another season.

The second episode drew 5.7 million viewers across HBO Max and linear television. In addition, the first episode was watched by more than 22 million domestic viewers based on HBO data. That’s almost five times the original audience that debuted earlier last month.

There was also a lot of excitement about the third episode, which contains the story of survivors Bill (Nick Offerman) and Frank (Murray Bartlett). The series is currently rated at 97% by critics Rotten tomatoes, with an audience score of 91%. So far, the reception and success of the show has been exceptionally high.

New episodes of “The Last of Us” usually debut on Sundays on HBO. The first season will consist of nine episodes. The television series is created and produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman. Druckman created the original Naughty Dog video games on which the show is based. The hit series stars Pascal, Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Tommy, Anna Torv Tess, Nico Parker Sarah, Storm Reid Riley, Melanie Lynskey and Kathleen.

Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker, the original actors from the games who played Joel and Ellie, will also appear on the show. Baker also hosts the official companion podcast summary show for HBO called “HBO’s The Last of Us Podcast.”

Meanwhile, Super Bowl LVII will air on Sunday, February 12 on the FOX network. Kickoff begins at 6:30 PM EST. The game will be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
