Lemon said, “You’re more worried about me than I am.” Life doesn’t stop. That’s behind me, we’ll see what happens. I don’t regret my life and whatever I did, I did, it was mine. I don’t look back and I don’t want to change the past… Continue.”

Lemon’s firing from CNN has been linked to his spat with Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley. The host noted that Haley was “beyond her age” while discussing how the age of politicians affects their ability to lead.

When she commented, lemon was in a segment with Kaitlan Collins and Poppy Harlow. He said: “He says…politicians are not in their prime. Nikki Haley is not in her prime. I’m sorry. A woman is considered to be in her prime in her 20s, 30s, maybe 40s.”

The comments were met with immediate backlash on social media, prompting Lemon to do so he will apologize soon. He wrote on Twitter, “This morning’s reference to women’s ‘primacy’ was contrived and irrelevant, as my colleagues and loved ones have pointed out, and I regret it.

Lemon was subsequently absent from three CNN broadcasts. The network’s president, Chris Licht, notified CNN employees that Lemon would be receiving training after having a “frank and meaningful conversation” with network executives.
