Damar Hamlin ‘guarantee’ possible return to football

The National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) has assured its fanbase of Damar Hamlin’s return.
The football safety avoided attending his team’s games after collapsing during a game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals after suffering cardiac arrest earlier last month. The NFLPA has now honored the player and asked fans to expect him back on the field on Monday Night Football in the near future.

Hamlin went down after being tackled by Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins during the Monday Night Football game on January 2nd. This was followed by a ten-minute attempt by medical staff to revive him with CPR.
After the football player regained his pulse, he was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was taken to the intensive care unit by ambulance. Hamlin’s case was subsequently described as “critical”, with speculation as to what kind of brain damage he would suffer if he survived.
Fortunately, after a week in the hospital, he slowly recovered and rekindled hope among his loved ones, teammates and fans. After such a grueling journey that inspired so many, the NFLPA did appreciated Hamlin is the winner of the 2023 Alan Page Community Award.
Based on Marcathe award, given to a player who has selflessly performed community service for his team, city or hometown, comes with a $100,000 donation, which Hamlin can donate to his foundation or any charity of his choosing. The 24-year-old, who was present at the Super Bowl LVII ceremony to receive the award, said in his acceptance speech:
“Thanks to my father, who is here behind me, growing up and just watching him spend community days in our community. I was always just waiting for my time when it came.”
It’s worth noting here that just before the festivities, NFLPA medical director and union doctor Dr. Thom Mayer assured fans that Hamlin’s football career was far from over.
In a conversation with a caller on SiriusXM’s “Heart to Heart,” Mayer clarified that he doesn’t want any problems with HIPAA before. stated, “I guarantee it; I guarantee that Damar Hamlin will play pro football again.”
The good news comes almost a month after Hamlin was released from the hospital. The explosion reported at the time that the security guard had been fired from Buffalo General Hospital — the second hospital he was taken to after his health scare.
“Damar Hamlin has been fired from Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, a Kaleida medical facility in Buffalo, New York. Hamlin was admitted on Monday and underwent a comprehensive medical evaluation and cardiac, neurological and vascular evaluation on Tuesday,” read a press release from The Bills.
In addition to updating fans on his progress since then, Hamlin also launched a line of T-shirts titled “Are We Coming?” with a sentence. embellished on them. The quote pays tribute to his first words after losing consciousness following a cardiac arrest.
