Channing Tatum opens up about his ‘terrifying’ split from Jenna Dewan
“Step Up” star Channing Tatum she recently looked back on her relationship with him Jenna Dewan after almost five years. The actor revealed that at the time it was “really scary” and “terrifying” to split from Dewan after a decade of marriage.
Tatum also noted that their divorce came after a long time of struggling with the fact that they had “grown apart” and no longer belonged together. Becoming parents made both the actor and his former beau realize how different they are from each other.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan have split

In an interview Vanity Fair, the 42-year-old admitted that they “fought for the marriage for a very long time,” even though they “knew we were drifting apart.” Tatum and Dewan met on the set of the 2006 movie “Step Up,” married three years later in 2009, and had their first child, Everly, in 2013.
However, the pair announced their separation in 2018 and officially separated in 2019. In response to why they stayed together for so long, Tatum revealed that they kept their vows from a young age.
“I think we told ourselves a story when we were young and just kept telling ourselves, no matter how blatantly life told us, that we were so different.”
Tatum also noted that raising their now four-year-old daughter made her realize how different they really are. He said per Oh! news, “Because he yells at you all day. How you educate differently, how you look at the world, how you go through the world.”
Channing Tatum was terrified of divorce

The “Dog” actor revealed that dealing with the breakup was not easy as he was not used to it. Tatum described the first few months after the divorce as “super scary” and “terrifying.” It was especially difficult because the star planned a lot for the family of three before the breakup. “It’s your whole plan that literally just goes down the drain… and you’re just like, Oh, shit. And now?'”
However, things eventually improved as the actor realized that the divorce was “probably exactly what I needed.” It also encouraged him to “work on myself to really try to figure out what’s next.” While Tatum wanted to do other things, the “Son of Nobody” actor decided to focus on his daughter.

Jenna Dewan was sad and afraid of breaking up

While both Tatum and Dewan have been romantically involved since their split, the “Side Effects” actor noted that he will not remarry. The star, who split from singer Jessie J in 2020 after two years together, is now embarking on another romantic journey with actress Zoë Kravitz.
Although they look good together, Tatum said, “I don’t know if I’ll ever get married again.” Dewan, on the other hand, will soon walk down the aisle with his sweetheart, Kazee, whom he started seeing in 2018. They got engaged in February 2020 and welcomed their son Callum the following month.
