Bruce Springsteen Reveals Painful Medical Reason For Tour Cancelation
September 27, 2023
Bruce Springsteen is making his health his topmost priority and is opening up about the painful condition responsible for canceling his tour.
Earlier this month, the iconic musician postponed all his September performances under doctors’ orders following his diagnosis with peptic ulcer disease. In his latest social media announcement, the guitarist revealed he was on the road to recovery.
Despite assuring concerned fans about his well-being, it appears the 74-year-old is far from ready to rock out for the rest of the year. The health update confirmed that the entertainer’s scheduled concerts for 2023 had been pushed back, with new dates to be announced next week.
Bruce Springsteen’s Condition Causes Severe Buring Stomach Pain
According to health experts, peptic ulcer disease can cause extreme pain in the stomach due to issues in the small intestine. “Burning stomach pain, feeling of fullness, bloating or belching, intolerance to fatty foods, heartburn, nausea,” are just a few of the symptoms.
The beloved Heartland Rock originator’s Instagram page was updated with a post about his recovery on Wednesday, September 27. The image featured an announcement about the postponement of the Springsteen & E Street Band’s 2023-2024 tour.
“Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor’s advice,” the statement began.
It continued, “With this in mind, and out of an abundance of caution, all remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be postponed until 2024.”
Fans who had purchased tickets did not have to despair as the rescheduled dates for the postponed shows, including September’s concerts, would take place at their original venues. However, those who could not make the new dates were allowed to obtain refunds through the official ticketing companies.
“All tickets for postponed performances will remain valid for the newly announced dates,” the announcement continued. Regarding Springsteen’s health, the poster concluded with a message from the iconic guitarist. The 74-year-old’s words read:
“Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement, and support. I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”
