Gabby’s parents filed new claims in their civil suit against Chris and Roberta Laundrie.

Court documents filed May 5^th it is claimed that Roberta wrote a letter to Brian and in the letter refers to “getting a shovel to help bury a body and baking a cake with a shiv” if Brian goes to jail.

Attorneys for Gabby’s parents argued in the filing: “It is a reasonable inference that the letter was written before Gabrielle Petito was buried and Brian Laundrie could be in jail. for the crime of murder.”

Brian killed Gabby on a road trip in the national parks. He is believed to have been killed on or around August 28, 2021. His body was discovered on September 19, 2021 in a park in Wyoming.

Gabby’s fiancé admitted to killing her in a series of notebook entries.

The lawsuit alleges that Brian’s parents and attorney Steven Bertolino knew Gabby had passed away on September 14.^th when Bertolino made the statement to the media on behalf of the Laundrie family.

Her statement expressed the Laundrie family’s hope that Gabby would be “reunited with her family.”

The explosion previously reported on Roberta’s infamous “reading burn” letter she sent to Brian.

The letter allegedly contained information about buying a shovel and helping bury the body and was titled “Burn it after you read it.”

Roberta defended herself in court and said the letter was all fun and games.

His attorneys filed for a protective order March 7 in Sarasota County Circuit Court^thwhich seeks to block Gabby’s parents’ attempts to make the “burn after reading” letter admissible as evidence in a civil lawsuit between the two families.

Attorneys for Joe Petito and Nichole Schmidt say the letter helped Brian get a shovel, bury a body and escape from prison.

To show her support for the letter NOT being made public, Roberta wrote a letter to the court claiming it was written months before Gabby and Brian left for a road trip in the summer of 2021.

“While I don’t know the exact date that the letter was written, I do know that I wrote it and gave it to Brian before Brian and Gabby left Florida for New York on June 2, 2021,” Roberta wrote.

She revealed that she and Brian bonded over books like ‘The Runaway Bunny’ and ‘Little Bear’.

Lawyers for Gabby’s family are calling it the Laundromat’s bluff, calling it “frankly unbelievable.”

“If the jury found that the letter was written after him Murder of Gabrielle Petito, this is further evidence that the Laundries and Bertolino knew that he was deceased when the statements in question were issued,” the court filing states. “If it wasn’t written around the time Roberta Laundrie knew her son had murdered Gabrielle Petito, it’s at best a strange letter from a mother to her son, and Roberta Laundrie’s explanation is frankly incredible.”
