“Black Mirror” is back.

The viral thriller anthology series returns to Netflix for its sixth season, created by Charlie Brooker.

Expect the unexpected in “Black Mirror” Season 6, according to Netflix’s elusive logline. The long-awaited return of Charlie Brooker’s darkly satirical anthology series that reinvents itself with each episode. The sixth season of “Black Mirror” is the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected yet.

Among the many interesting and mysteriously weird images in the trailer is Schitt’s Creek favorite Annie Murphy having some sort of public meltdown in a cheerleader outfit, recalling Bryce Dallas Howard’s very public meltdown in the Season 3 episode “Nosedive.” Aaron Paul, meanwhile, appears to be on a spaceship, suggesting that this season will take us farther than ever before.

Series creator Brooker narrates the entire season and serves as an executive producer alongside Jessica Rhoades, Annabel Jones and Bisha K. Ali. Broke & Bones is the production company behind the series.

“I’ve always felt that ‘Black Mirror’ should have stories that are completely different from each other and keep surprising people (and myself), or what’s the point? It has to be a series that can’t be easily defined and that can constantly reinvent itself,” Brooker said on Netflix’s Tudum. “So, partly as a challenge and partly to keep things fresh for myself and the viewer, I started this season by deliberately subverting some of my basic assumptions about what to expect.”

Brooker continued: “Consequently, this time around, in addition to some of the more familiar ‘Black Mirror’ tropes, we’ve also got some new elements, including some that I swore the show would never do, to expand the parameters of the show. even an episode of “Black Mirror” is. The tone of the stories is still “black mirror” – but with some crazy swing and more variety than ever. And to bring it all to life, we’ve got an incredible roster of disgustingly skilled, smart directors working with a cast so talented they honestly have no raison d’être. I can’t wait for people to experience it all and I hope they enjoy it – especially the parts they shouldn’t.”

Brooker previously said in 2020 that Season 6 was delayed because of how close it is to real life when “societies fall apart”.
