Apple is showing Martin Scorsese’s new movie in theaters
Original Apple Movies confirmed to be the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s latest film Martin Scorsese“Killers of the Flower Moon” will debut in theaters this fall. The film is being released in theaters in association with Paramount Pictures and is expected to be released this October.
The protagonist of the upcoming film is Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

The western crime thriller opens in limited theaters on Friday, October 6th, followed by a wide release on Friday, October 20th. This will be followed by the global streaming launch of Apple TV+.
The theatrical release is part of Apple’s recent broader commitment to bringing its original films to theaters. The Hollywood Reporter. In the past, Apple released its movies in its streaming app or in limited theaters. But the tech giant plans to spend $1 billion on new movies with wide theatrical releases to boost Apple’s profile in Hollywood. Although Apple doesn’t have the profile of other movie studios, it managed to release the 2021 film “CODA,” which won Best Picture in 2022, after buying the film at Sundance for $25 million.
Scorsese directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Eric Roth, based on David Grann’s bestselling book of the same name. Set in 1920s Oklahoma, the story follows the serial killings of members of the oil-rich Osage Nation, and the brutal crimes are known as the “Reign of Terror.” DiCaprio stars alongside longtime Scorsese collaborator Robert DeNiro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion and Tantoo Cardinal in the film.
DiCaprio will play Ernest Burkhart, the beefy nephew of William Hale (DeNiro) in the film. Gladstone plays Mollie Kyle in the film, an Osage woman who inherited an oil fortune. Plemons plays Tom White, an ex-Texas sergeant who investigates the murders.
The film will be Scorsese and DiCaprio’s sixth feature film together. They first started working together with 2002’s “The Gangs of New York”. They have worked together on several films over the years, including ‘The Aviator’, ‘The Departed’, ‘Shutter Island’ and ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.
“The Departed” won Scorsese his first Academy Award for Best Director in his illustrious career. In 2007, it also received the Oscar for best film. Their last film together, “The Wolf of Wall Street,” received five Oscar nominations, including Best Actor for DiCaprio, Best Director (Scorsese), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor. Along with Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and Daniel Lupi, Scorsese also produced the film. DiCaprio serves as executive producer under the Appian Way banner alongside Rick Yorn, Adam Sommer, Marianne Bower, Lisa Frechette, John Atwood, Shea Kammer and Niels Juul.
Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” starring DiCaprio, will hit theaters at the end of October.
