A new sushi restaurant is opening at Disney World this summer

Disney Parks announced that Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya is coming soon to the Japan Pavilion and will “offer a festive dining experience in a shareable Izakaya style to create memories and good times through flavors.”

Guests can “experience the essence of Japanese seasonal festivals” as each month the dining experience offers something new! “From hanging tanzaku to celebrate Tanabata in July to tasting moon-gazing dumplings in September, a Japanese cultural representative will guide you through each unique festival experience, one bite at a time,” Disney said. “The atmosphere also embraces Japanese festivals, with beautiful hand-painted artwork and lanterns highlighting the natural wonders that Japan also has to offer. Each visit is designed to create unforgettable memories that capture the spirit of Japan’s vibrant seasonal celebrations.”

Of course, traditional Japanese sushi and teppan items will be on the menu, but there will also be an open sushi bar and grill!

“Sushi lovers will be amazed when seated at the sushi bar to see sushi being made first hand by the chefs right in front of them,” Disney’s report continued. “This unique place offers an unmissable dining experience, with a magnificent grill inspired by the roof of Kyoto’s Phoenix Hall that will enchant your eyes while the food captivates your taste buds.”

Some of the items at the Disney featured sushi bar include Kobore Sushiwhich actually means “overflowing sushi” and “negi toro and nakaochi tuna paired elegantly with salmon roe and green onions”. Tokyo Negi Rollwhich is “tuna tataki rolled in green onion tempura, topped with jalapeno aïoli, grated carrot and sliced ​​jalapeño” and the Funamoriwhich consists of sashimi and sushi arranged on a boat-shaped plate.

Disney World guests also get a tasting Japanese Izakaya food, which Disney says is “sort of a casual pub-style restaurant.”

According to their account, “One of the main highlights of izakaya culture is the emphasis on sharing plates of food while drinking and chatting with friends. Izakaya menus typically include a wide variety of small dishes, and this is no different. At the grill, Disney guests can enjoy Okonomiyaki, a Japanese savory pancake made from flour, eggs and water. The pancake is then filled with shredded cabbage and bacon, then topped with spicy okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, aonori, bonito flakes and pickled ginger.

There is currently no set opening date for Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya, but fans can’t wait to dine at this new restaurant sometime this summer. Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakayall is located in the Japan Pavilion of World Showcase located in EPCOT.
